At 19 years of age Velma became the mother of Bill Centers in Pioneer La, 1928. Bill and Buck were twins who died shortly after birth.

At 21 years of age Velma became the mother of Laura Edna Centers in Pioneer La, August 31, 1930. At 24 years of age Velma became the mother of Marie Centers in Pioneer La, 1933. At 27 years of age Velma became the mother of Elizabeth Connell 1936. At 30 years of age Velma became the mother of Paul D. Connell in Pioneer La, 1939. At 42 years of age Velma became the mother of Mary H. Connell 1951.

William became the father of Elizabeth Connell 1936. William became the father of Paul D. Connell in Pioneer La, 1939. William became the father of Mary H. Connell 1951. William served in Europe in WWI.

William Connell and Velma Hughes had the following children:
