ICING RECIPES

Buttercream Icing
(Susie)


1/2 cup butter, softened
1/8 t salt
2 cups confectioners sugar
2 T milk

Cream butter and salt together; add sugar and stir briskly. Stir in milk and beat well. Add additional sugar or milk if necessary for spreading consistency. Makes 1 cup.



Cream Cheese Icing


1 lb. powdered sugar
1 - 8 oz pkg cream cheese
1 cube melted butter
1 tsp vanilla

Combine all ingrediants and mix well. Sprinkle with nuts after spreading.

Chocolate Icing

4 T cocoa
1 stick oleo
6 T milk
1 box powdered sugar
1 t vanilla
1 cup nuts

Bring cocoa, oleo and milk to boil. Add powdered sugar, vanilla and nuts. Mix well. Pour over cake while still hot.

Glaze


1cup powdered sugar
2 T milk

Mix together until smooth. Drizzle over dessert.

Vanilla Butter Frosting

1/3 cup soft butter or margarine
3 cups confectioners' sugar
1 1/2 t vanilla
About 2 tablespoons milk

Blend butter and sugar. Stir in vanilla and milk; beat until frosting is smooth and of spreading consistency.

Fills and frosts two 8" or 9" layers or frosts a 13X9" cake.
