These are people who were so depraved, they were even abhorred while they were still alive---and the passage of time has not much changed the way in which we perceive them. These are people to take as examples---not to emulate, but to learn from. Perhaps if we can understand the reasons why they became "monsters," we can save ourselves from our own darker sides.
