Crystal figurines are delicate, intricately carved statuettes carved out of rock crystal or other forms of crystal or gems, such as amethysts, emeralds, and garnets. Most are carved to resemble spiders, although some are made in the form of ants, scorpions, or other insects and arachnids. Regardless of form, they are usually about half a foot wide. They are always beautifully carved, although they tend to be abstract or stylized in form, due to the angles and flat faces of their crystal bodies. Crystal figurines are often used as assassins. They can’t speak, but can understand their creator’s primary language; they usually only listen to their master.

Combat
Crystal figurines fight only at the bidding of their master. When they attack, they use the sharp edges of their body to inflict damage on their opponents. Because of their intelligence, they can understand somewhat complex orders (a few sentences up to fifty words or less), and can improvise if necessary.

Spell-like Abilities (Sp): Crystal figurines can cast chromatic orb, hypnotic pattern, and rainbow pattern as a 6th-level sorcerer, once per day. Light based spells and ray spells, cast on them are reflected back to the caster.

Immunities (Ex): In addition to their damage reduction, crystal figurines take only half damage from slashing attacks and from fire and cold, and no damage from electrical attacks. However, they are vulnerable to the spells shatter, shout, and crystalbrittle, and these spells will destroy the figurine unless it makes a successful Fort save.

Construct: Immune to mind-influencing effects, poison, disease, and similar effects. Not subject to critical hits, subdual damage, ability damage, energy drain, or death from massive damage.

Construction
These figurines must be carved from a single stone, requiring a skill check (Craft: Carving, DC 25). It costs 10,000 gp and two months to construct the figure. The ritual to enchant the figuring takes a month, and requires the caster to have the Craft Wondrous Items feat and know arcane spells. It also requires 400 xp and the spells polymorph any object, limited wish, chromatic orb, hypnotic pattern, and rainbow pattern.

Diamond Figurines
A much rarer form of crystal figurine is the diamond figurine. These figurines have an additional +4 natural AC bonus, take no damage whatsoever from edged weapons and only half damage from all other melee attacks. Weapons that strike the figurine have a 20% chance of breaking; this chance drops by 5% per plus of the weapon, and nonmagical weapons automatically break upon a successful attack roll. It costs twice the gold, time, and experience to construct one of these figurines, and they have a challenge rating of 6. They are otherwise identical to regular crystal figurines.
