The roar of waves reaches us, and a breeze ruffles our skin, which had gotten used to the still air of caverns. We stare at a huge lake, the fabled Sunless Sea. Fell things like cerubi, ghouls and wampyrs prowl its shore. It is housed in the largest cavern we have ever seen, or ever could imagine seeing. And on the far side of the lake...shining like a star, yet as bright as the full moon, was the silver-shining Bright City. It is just barely more than a point from our vantage, it's so far away, but its light fills the Great Cavern. We see huge stalactites overhead, some as big as ships or large buildings, growing downwards. Whole families of wampyrs are meeping overhead, with homes in the gigantic stalactites, gliding from there to hunt for blood.
