Mid-Island

(Located on the middle east side of Vancouver Island 1 1/2 hours north of Victoria, 45 minutes
north of Duncan, and 1 hour south of Courtenay. Ferries go directly out of Nanaimo to
Horseshoe Bay and into Vancouver. Vancouver bands could play here and be back
overnight or even the same day.)

Vancouver Island locations require a ferry ride and approximately $40 each way just for the
ferries (if you go without a vehicle it still runs $15 return on foot, $20 return with a bike).
There are, however, many places to play up and down the island so it can be worth it for a
mini-tour. The ferry out of Tswassessen (past Delta) takes you to Victoria via Schwartz Bay
while the ferry out of Horseshoe Bay (In West Vancouver/Squamish area) takes you to Nanaimo.
