Oconee vs Jackson County

Oconee played very sloppy, but was still able to come away with a 39-21 win in Jefferson. Oconee jumped out to a qucik 11-0 lead. First Luke Bishop scored from 9 yards away. Clayton Matthews then hit JT Cape for the 2 point conversion. Then Matthews nailed a 43 yard field goal. Thats when things turned ugly. The Warriors appeared to lose their focus. Jackson County scored on a halfback pass before halftime. Oconee answered with a 27 yard TD pass from Clayton Matthews to Andy Tillman. Oconee went into halftime leading 19-6. Oconee would add 20 3 rd quarter points. First Luke Bishop hauled in a 47 yard pass from Matthews. Jackson County running back Sam Veal scored on a 10 yard run to keep it close. Oconee scored on a 13 yard pass from Matthews to Cape. Then Jerry Willoughby scored on a 23 yard run to seal an ugly victory. Jackson County scored a 4 th TD against the Warrior JV defense.

That was the most points the Warriors had given up this year. The Warriors only out gained Jackson County by 3 yards on offense, 287 to 284.
