Oconee vs North Gwinnett
Oconee marred North Gwinnetts homecoming game Friday with a 36-14 win. It was North Gwinnett that struck by returning the opening kickoff for a TD. From there though it was all Oconee. After a long kickoff return by Chip Moore, the Warriors scored on a 19 yard run by Tyson Browning. The defense shut down the Bulldog "3 yards and a cloud of dust" offence all night long. Clayton Matthews found J.T. Cape in the back of the endzone to take a 13-7 lead. The 2 point conversion made it 15-7. From there the rout was on. Luke Bishop scored 2 TDs and finished the night with 133 yards rushing.
Oconee went into halftime up 36-7. That is the most the Warriors have scored in one half in Herrons tenure. The Warriors watched the homecoming queen get crowned at the half. The second half saw a lot of time by some younger players, but still wasnt all that sloppy.
Next up is Habersham Central for homecoming. Oconee must remember that, and not think too much about playing Stephens County in Toccoa on the 23rd. Oconee moves to 5-0 and guarantees to not have a losing regular season.
