Troop 25 Leaders

Scoutmaster:

Dave Read - Mr. Read has been scouting since he was a boy. He attained the rank of eagle at the age of 15 in the year 1971. He has been Scoutmaster for 4 full years now, this upcoming year will be fifth. He took over for Dr. Frank Krasuski in the year 1993. The troop is very grateful for the time and the effort that both Mr. Read and Dr. Krasuski have put in for the benefit of the troop. This year, Mr. Read will be the Scoutmaster for the National Jamboree troop that will be assembled representing the General Herkimer Council. This is an enormous task. Also, under his leadership, 11 boys from the troop plan on attending the 1997 Jamboree located at Fort A.P. Hill, Virginia. A full contingent has been assembled for the trip, and a waiting list has now been formed. This is the first time this has happened in our council.

Assistant Scoutmasters:

Mike Kelly - Mr. Kelly also came into the troop in 1993, the same year as Mr. Read. Since then, he has helped the troop in a number of ways. Mr. Kelly is also the outdoors chairman for our troop. He is the one who coordinates all of the trips that the troop attends. Since we go on some type of outing at least once a month, Mr. Kelly is always kept busy. He has a great knowledge of the outdoors, and he has received his winter survival training course, and may be giving the course to other people some time in the very near future.

Bob Estey - Mr. Estey also came into the troop the same year that our other two leaders did. He has also helped the troop in the best way that he can. Mr. Estey has served as the advancement chairman of the troop. He is the one who is in charge of all of the boys advancement records. He has to file all of the records, and he has to make sure that they are always up to date. Mr. Estey has also sat with an Eagle Board of Review team before. This is the group of people who anyone who like to attain Eagle Scout has to have a discussion with before receiving the rank. As you can see, all of our leaders are very important to our troop.
