Tips to think about after buying a new or used car that is already put together.

I bought the 1/8 scale Serpent from a fellow modeler. It was bought and then shipped to me a few days later.
(Thanks Mike)
With any new or used model one gets from another modeler; It's a good idea to check all the screws to make sure they are tight and in good working order. Remember never over tighten screws in plastic parts and make sure all the screws are in good shape. Replace bad screws before you get to the track. Other wise you will loose them as you run and worse they could end up in the drive line causing a great deal of costly damage.

The 1/8 scale Serpent arrived as promised!

The car was packed well and made the trip in good shape.

Out of the box and on the table it went.

Radio installation complete.

Radio tray mounted back in the car. (Note: I don't use a switch. I place a connector in the battery line and plug and unplug the receiver. Switches can fail and when they do things can happen fast.

Its hard to see but the servo is mounted on the plate and the servo saver clears the belt with no problems. Servo wires are tucked in next to the receiver.

Here is a close look at the servo saver.

Even if you buy a new car already built. It is a good idea to check all the screws and bolts. Take the time to tie up all servo wires and keep things neat. You will have less things to worry about when you get to the track.
