Qualifications for Voting in Ohio 1.  Must be 18 by the November election 2.  Must be a United States citizen 3.  Must be a resident of Ohio 4.  Must be registered with the Board of Elections     One of the most important rights and responsibilities of a United States citizen is the right to vote. Four amendments to the Constitution have been passed in order to protect this right. The 15th provides that a citizen cannot be denied the right to vote because of race or because of having been a slave. The 19th gave women the right to vote. The 24th abolished the poll tax. The 26th lowered the voting age from 21 to 18.
