     Iodine Deficiency Disorder

IDD is a disease which causes goiter and mental retardation in people who have not been able to consume enough iodine in their lives. Circle K International has been dedicated to this cause for years and it has a goal of eliminating IDD in the near future. Circle K clubs all over the world have been raising money to build iodine plants in undeveloped countries. Only $0.05 is enough to save one life. That's why the Circle K-ers and the rest of the K-family are so excited about their goal. To find out more about what Division 1 is doing to eliminate IDD, visit the homepage for their upcoming project sponsored by UCLA Circle K - A Musical Tribute with Mr. Lincoln.

Children

Another great concern of Circle K International is the proper development of children. The future of the world is in the hands of today's children and we have a duty to give them excellent education and teach them good moral values. All Circle K clubs make sure to dedicate themselves to children by tutoring them, having social events and picnincs, or even organizing immunization days.
