Ok, the end of the season has come, and it's time to write the post-season
wrap up.
Michigan won the National Title. That came as a big surprise. This is a
Michigan team that nobody though would even get into the tournament, let
alone win it.
Let me take a few moments to talk about ESPN's college hockey coverage.
#1 - Michigan did NOT beat Rhode Island in the semi-final game. Michigan
did not even PLAY Rhode Island.
#2 - Michigan does not have a player named "Bubbenzweig" or "Mottau". The
guy is named Bubba Berenzweig.
#3 - The net cam was kind of annoying. Why did ESPN always go to it when
the puck was behind the net? Do they have no cameras behind the boards?
#4 - The players do not "Always take the body in college hockey" Mr. Levy
felt compelled to repeat this myth at least 5 times during the championship
game.
#5 - Will you please stop referring to the NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP as "A
different type of National Hockey Night"? Give it the respect it deserves,
and say it's the NC$$ championship.
At least ESPN didn't use Fox's Glowing Puck, or the annoying animations.
It did bother me when they put up "Baseball is Next" in a big purple square
in the left corner. Couldn't they do this during a commercial?
