The Goons Predictions On the Finish

I came up with my own picks for the standings at the end of the
season. As the season winds down this is the way I see things happening.
Have fun and enjoy, the rest of the season.

                 The Goon's Ice Chips.

*The question around the WCHA is has SCSU began a team slide, only time will
tell. Over the last four games SCSU is 1-3, giving up giving up 20 goals in
four games. Over the same period of time it appears that the horse shoe on
Brians shoulders is begining to rust. Leitza is 1-3-0 with and .850 save
percentage. As the season rolls on a team can not expect to win giving up 40
shots a night. No goalie is that good.

*After this weekends series with SCSU left a bad taste in my mouth. Not only
did the Sioux play the bad in the first game, but I felt that SCSU plays a
shady game. First I had another look at the infamous slash Andy Vicari laid
on Lee Goren. I have to tell you that it looked worse than I had originally
anticipated. Vicari definately should have been suspended for a couple of
games. If that is not intent to injure another player, than I don't know
what is. He tried to perform dental surgery on Lee Goren at center ice, at
the end of a game where the out come had been decided, allready, that was a
guttless play. My second observation is, why is Mitch Vig constantly run
into the boards by Huskie players, first it was Brad Goulet last year and
now Stewart this year. This has no part in the game of hockey, and it is a
move reserved for Cowards only. In fact Jason Steward gets my Bozo award of
the weekend for his classless/gutless act. I believe that Stewart
deliberately tried to hurt Mitch with his vicious dangerous hit into the
boards. This is how players get hurt, and how careers end.

*I think that Matt Henderson showed great poise in comming to the aid of his
team mate Mitch Vig after he was bruttaly hit into the boards by Huskie
player Jason Stewart. Matt is definately a team player.

*Pat Sweeney of ABC'S WDAZ channell 8 Grand Forks, has informed the rest of
the Teams in the WCHA to beware of the Gophers as they got their only sweep
         of the season.

                 Predictions of the Week

I was brutal in my picks last week as I only picked the UND and D.U. series
         right.

*Mankato travels to UND this weekend for the first time and finds out how
hard Division one hockey is. UND Sweeps 7-1 and 3-1.

*D.U. plays SCSU tough but loses both games 3-4 and 1-2.

*Minnesota goes to Michigan Tech and loses two in the Winter Carnival.
         MTU Sweeps 6-3 and 5-4 in O.T.

*Alaska travels to Wisconsin where they will feel like they were caught in
a Hornets nest Wisconsin sweeps with scores of 8-2 and 3-2.

*Duluth plays Host to C.C. this should prove to be a pivital game for both
teams, however, C.C. hasn't beaten a team in the WCHA with a winning record.
Duluth loses two to C.C as the Tigers sweep 5-4 and 6-5.

         Good Day.
