A computerised Railway Reservation Centre at the University of Roorkee was inaugurated by Er. V.K. Agnihotri (1960), Member Engg. Railway Board, on May 25, 1998. Prof. N. C. Nigam, Vice-Chancellor, University of Roorkee presided over the function. Many University and Railway officials were present at the inaugural function.

This is probably for the first time that the Ministry of Railways has extended such a facility within a University Campus.
