This site is one that seems to be
very pleasing to the eyes, but not to the mind. The splash page gives us
a few options: sign/view the guestbook, or move on to the Entrance Hall.
There are also updates listed on this, which are fairly recent. Good maintenance.
The background, although having nothing to do with Sailormoon, is very
pretty and goes well with the edited Eternal Sailormoon picture, which
by the way is gorgeous. The title picture has a blue aura about it, and
for some people may be
hard to read. This would be very
beautiful, however, if you many toned down the shadow. Nice color coordination.
We move on to the Entrance Hall,
where we are struck by yet another beautifully edited graphic, of Neo-Queen
Serenity. The title graphic on this page is also nice, much better than
the splash page. A similar background to the splash page's is seen here
(and on all of the other pages), but on this one it doesn't quite match.
I'd suggest getting rid of the reddish-pink hearts, they don't quite go
(but it's really fine, very subtle). I love the graphic of the Moon Kingdom
next to the comments at the
bottom, very nice. Hmm.. I need
to learn how to edit like this! ^^
The first section is called Fire
and Water. This section is on Mamoru and Usagi's relationship. No beautiful
title graphic here, only normal text. *waa* I'd suggest making one, it
would be very nice. ^_^ Evelin explains here that the page is named after
the couple's zodiac signs, cancer (water) and leo (fire), which makes sense.
Not too many authors use this concept. She uses their zodiac personality
traits to describe why
water and fire are perfect for each
other, contradicting what mose people
claim. There are a few minor spelling
mistakes that should be fixed here... not to say that I don't have spelling
mistakes on my own page. *_* Although the concept is nice, this page doesn't
really describe Usagi and Mamoru as a couple. I'd like to see more information
on them as people, their real lives. It's said that more info will be added
soon, so maybe I'll re-review then.
We now move on to Palace Service.
This is a page mostly for helping other people build sites, with a Message
Board, Mailing List, and HTML Help Page. No title graphic on this
one either! It looks okay, but I really like the ones that you made for
the main pages. Make more, make more! The Message Board has a very
cute background, but it's sad that no one posts there besides Evelin herself.
Maybe I'll drop a note... There's a basic ONElist Mailing-List, which
is fine, I have no problem with those! It's not very clear what the Mailing
list is for, though, maybe you should state a little more information on
this. The HTML help page gives you a self-made, very nice form to fill
out, describing your problem. A nice idea, although it's one that
I've seen before. Judging from the looks of the site, Evelin will give
good advice.
The "Enchanted Gallery" is a page
where the pictures within change monthly. It looks to me like these pictures
are for the month of January! Please try to update these monthly
things, it's very important that you do, otherwise page-viewers get bored.
Again, nice background, and no title graphic! There are six pictures here,
all of which are very common. But the thumbnails are nice, and Evelin went
the right way when making smaller graphics of the pictures when not knowing
how to make actual thumbnails. Kudos! Most people only resize the images.
The Contact and About page gives
simple information about Evelin, the author. *Yay!* A nice title graphic!
This one is cute. Again, though, the background doesn't really match the
Usagi graphic. The "In a Nutshell" page gives info on the author, very
nice, no problems here. Copyright Information just gives your basic disclaimer
and credits. No problems here, either.
The Silver Palace Court Yard just
gives basic links. I don't think putting a midi here is a very good idea,
most people get annoyed with them and turn down the volume. Maybe giving
viewers an option of stopping the midi would be better. No title graphic
here either.. *pout* All links work, no problems.
Overall, this page is very nicely
designed, but runs low on content. It doesn't have much information on
Sailormoon as a show or as the character. More information and opinions
would make this site a lot better! Just sit down and think, and the ideas
will come to you. |
