your editorial to one of us (e-mail addresses above), and we'll gladly publish it! ^^ |
Hello! Our first editorial was written by Taylor,
who kindly allowed me to publish her opinions. They're interesting insights
on what makes a Sailormoon page truly fun and useful, I hope you enjoy.
What I Look For In a Sailormoon Site 1) General layout. I know content is the most important thing, but most people do tend to be interested more in a site that catches your eye. There are sites that function wonderfully that don't have much in the way of graphics, but I think having a good design adds a nice touch to the overall effect of the site.
2) Stuff! Stuff stuff stuff! A site has to have CONTENT.
Something worthwhile ro read, laugh over, interact, something! You
can have a very appealing page graphically, but if there's nothing else
that will keep me interested, I click that dreaded little "X" in the corner
of the screen.
3) Originality. This aspect tends to be kinda iffy. Sure if you're building a shrine to a popular character, you find that most of your "original" ideas have been taken by someone else already. I've been in that position before. ^^;; But there are still plenty of differents things out there that could make a site unique. For instance, I like the way S.T.A.R. does the Help Section. Who wouldn't want tips from the senshi themselves? I haven't seen that on any other pages. These are some of the
things that bug me the most on SM pages:
2) False info- This is one of my biggest pet peeves! Usually, it's false "dubbing" thoughts and ideas. A lot of it is actually from SOS, like that horrific "Prince Uranus" thing. I know my page isn't going completely correct on all the info, but there are no major false ideas and such.
3) "Wowee! I've discovered the world of JAVASCRIPTS!" - Giant mallets
frequently come to mind when I go to sites that have those hugely annoying
javagoodies, like scrolling text(those used to be popular, but have declined,
thankfully). Those annoying pop-up message boxes, like "What's you're
Name?". Sometimes the pages themselves are pretty good, but I still dislike
4) Not really a peeve, but just an observartion: The SM Community has become
very closed up these days. There's a group of the "elite", whom all
have pages that EVERYONE knows about, and then there's everyone else.
They all link to eachother, and exchange HTML tips and secrets, the SM
version of the
