Who are they ?
Darren Hayes is the magical voice behind Savage Garden, as well as co - songwriter with
Daniel Jones. He chose the name for the band from the book "Lestat", one of his
favourite Anne Rice vampire novels. His musical influences come from popular
80's and early 90's bands which were around in Australia such as Fleetwood Mac,
Marvin Gaye, Diana Ross, Prince, Duran Duran and The Smiths. He is rumoured
to have recently married a long time highschool "sweetheart".


Daniel Jones is the man behind the music of Savage Garden. He plays most of the
instruments the band uses (keyboard, guitars, digital) and does some background
vocals, as well as co - writing songs with Darren Hayes. Daniel "blames" his
musical influences on his older brothers who started playing imstruments at age 8,
as well as his childhood & teenage music experiences, namely XTC, Gabriel and,
Tears for Fears.
