It went amazingly well. I never heard a single snickering comment even though I went all through the store. Not even any funny looks. At 6'4" I can't believe that I fooled everone but it's amazing how most people are just into themselves and what they're doing. Most folks aren't staring at other folks trying to figure out if they're crossdressing! It was just completely uneventful until I got to the checkout line. There was an older man in front of me that had bought just a few items but was either drunk or had mild Alzenheimers and just couldn't figure out how to get the right amount of money out of his wallet and change out of his pockets. Must have held up the line 5 minutes. When the check finally got to me she looked at me and started shaking her head. I thought "oh no I've been read and she's going to say something snotty to me in front of the whole line of people". Instead, she just turned to look at the drunk guy leaving out the door and said "boy, SOME people. I hope he makes it home to sleep it off without running over body". Just shows you that it's more your BEHAVIOR than your perfect or imperfect appearance that draws unfavorable attention. Act like a respectable lady and most people will treat you like one.

Afterwards, I was really feeling cocky so I stopped to fill up the tank at a gas station. As I was finishing, a tall young 25 year old or so guy got off a bus and was walking down the sidewalk towards me. I was sure hoping he didn't try to mess with me as it was about 11:00 and nobody was around accept the gas station clerk about 50 feet away. When he came up to me, though, all he did was nod his head and smile at me as if to imply "yes, there's an attractive older woman but she's a bit long in the tooth for me to make a real come-on to". Made my day. I'm starting to very slowly and with trepidation inch my way "out" to give Venus more room to breathe. Give me some time though and don't expect me on Jerry Springer announcing it to the world!
