In 1996, for the celebration
of the City of Miami's 100th. birthday, the Police Department issued the
Centennial Patch & Badge. The limited edition Patch was strictly ceremonial,
and is now a collectors items, but the Badge was worn by the Miami P.D.

Police Officers are called by a variety of names; PIGS, COPS, FUZZ, HEAT and several others. The origins of these slang terms are debated constantly. No matter what name we are summoned by, they are always there to help and serve those in need of our services.

Miami has become an American sports MECCA. With the Dolphins, Marlins, Heat and Panthers, we have a top ranked team in all the main sports areas in America. Even a new Arena football team and Pro soccer team are in the works. The Lipton Tennis Tournament and Miami Grand Prix are a sure hit with any tennis and car racing fan. If you like Horse racing, Jai-alai, and Greyhound racing, we have those too! The University of Miami has a top ranked sports program in nearly every sport as well. Plan on seeing a game or two when you visit Miami.

The Dolphins were poised for a great comeback
season in 1997-98. J.J. worked hard with the rookies and this year should
have been a WINNER for the Fins. The Patriots, though, thought otherwise.
I'm sure J.J. will make some vast improvements for this season when we
will be on the road to the SUPER BOWL.

In 1997, we beat the Giants, we beat the Braves and we beat the Indians. What else can the Marlins do? WE ARE THE WORLD CHAMPIONS !
The 1998 Regular Season is now under way, although a little rocky at times. The new guys will get it together & follow the lead of last year's World Champs. 1998 will pick up where 1997 left off.
