Dr.Vinay Dabholkar of Catalign delivered a talk on two models of systematic innovation, the one that was followed by Edison and the one that was followed by Lafley. He defined Innovation as I-square-P, which stands for Idea, Implementation, and Profit. He discussed the methods used by Edison in running innovation experiments. Lafley used a different model at Proctor and Gamble, where he opened up innovation partnerships with people outside the organization. Vinay compared the two methods of systematic innovation.
