A one day Tutorial Workshop was held at Malaviya National Institute of Technology, Jaipur on 9th August 2010. Dr. C. P. Ravikumar, Technical Director, University Relations, Texas Instruments, Bangalore conducted the tutorial as invited expert. The tutorial was attended by more than 100 faculty members, research scholars and postgraduate students. There were more than 50 registered participants attending the workshop with financial support provided by VLSI Society of India.
The registration started at 8:30 AM followed by the inaugural session at 9:00 AM. Dr. C. P. Ravikumar was welcomed by Prof. Md. Salim, Head of the Department, Electronics & Comm. Engg. The inaugural session witnessed the presence of faculty members of MNIT Jaipur- Prof. A. B. Gupta, former Dean of Faculty, Prof. S. G. Modani, Senior professor ECE, Prof. K. C. Swami, Head of Dept. of Physics, Prof. Rashmi Jain, Head, Dept. of Mathematics, Prof. K. R. Niyazi, Professor Training & placement, Dr. Girdhari Singh, Head, Dept, of Computer Engg., Mr. Tarun Varma, Associate Professor, ECE, Dr. Vineet Sahula, Associate Professor, ECE and coordinator, Mr. D. Boolchandani, Associate professor, ECE and co-coordinator, Dr. Vijay Janyani, Associate Professor, ECE, Mr. G. Singh, Assistantship professor, ECE, Mrs. Ritu Sharma, Asistantship, ECE and Mr. Mustaq Ahmed, Assistant professor, Computer Engg.

The inaugural session was followed by the tutorial by C. P. Ravikumar, which included the following topics:
Historial perspective on VLSI Design
IP-core based SoC Design
Interconnect Design Issues
Design challenges in nanometer VLSI design
The workshop ended with thanks-giving by Mr. D. Boolchandani, on-behalf of coordination-committee and participants to Dr. C. P. Ravikumar for his deliberations, taking pains to travel a long distance to state of Rajasthan, and for benefitting a large audience with his knowledge and motivation.
