Your Webmaster entered the Marine Corps 4 January, 1966 at Fort Des Moines, Iowa and took boot camp at San Diego, California. After boot camp he attended Advanced Infantry Training at Camp Pendleton, after which he attended Motor Transport School as a Basic Mechanic. Upon graduation he was sent to San Diego M.C.R.D. as a permanent duty station until July of 1966 when he received orders to the Republic of Vietnam. After completing "Staging Battalion" at Camp Pendleton he arrived in Da Nang as a PFC on 17 September of 1966 being assigned to Mag 16, Mab 16 H&S Company. He served TDY with 11th Motors as Security and was stationed at Kha Shan, Hue, Dong Ha, and Phu Bai. He rotated back to ConUS in October 1967 where he served with 11th Artillery until they received orders to ship out to the Republic of Vietnam. In 1968 after reenlisting he then received orders to the 32nd. Street Naval Station where he was assigned to the Naval Brig. In January 1970 he received orders to return to the Republic of Vietnam where in March as a Sergeant he was assigned to 9th Engineers in Chu Lai until they received orders to return stateside and he was sent to 7th Engineers in March and being assigned as Roadmaster. When 7th Engineers received orders to return to ConUS he was transferred to 3rd Battalion 7th Marines at FSB Ross as Security NCOIC. When the 7th pulled back to Da Nang he was assigned as Security NCOIC of Subsection "C" outside Da Nang and later as Embarkation NCO. When the 7th received orders to return to ConUS he was classified as key personnel and went back to ConUS aboard the USS Juneau to Camp Pendleton. He was then stationed at 4th Amtrac Battalion in Tampa Florida where he was discharged on 17 May 1971. He is a retired police officer obtaining the rank of Police Chief. He is a life member of the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 3, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2148, Heart of Texas Marine Corps League Detachment 975, Jewish War Veterans of the USA and a Master Mason.
