such a very, very young boy
with legs and knees like springs
dressed like an ancient guard
to ancient russian kings.
with triple jumps galore
performed with oh such ease--
fur boots, a traditional hat,
vest flapping in the breeze.
a painful-looking spin,
with one blade behind the head,
if ever i tried to do that,
oh, dear lord! i'd soon be dead!
i could never do such a painful move,
stretch my body while a-twirl,
never could i do a Biellman,
and after all, i'm a girl!
