Ravi!!

Good pic...
Have you ever wondered who the hell that cute back-up guitarist for Hanson was, you know , the Indian dude? I sure did and well, I had to find out...His name is Ravi. He is of German and Indian descent. He was born in Washington DC, but moved to Connecticut at the age of 4. He grew up in a "Wall Street" family, his two older brothers an father work in finance. He found joy in music. That event in hes life happened in the subarbs of New York City, where Ravi discovered music and music discovered him. He is a young guitar player, singer, and songwriter and has worked with some big names in the music industry, not to mention HANSON.
After extensively studying piano, guitar and composition, he pursed a career as teaching. He had up to 60 students studying guitar, composition, and mucic appreciation...(Damn, that's a whole bunch..) That helped him financially with his 16-track recording facility. His studio is used for the original "Ravi" music and his clients, some of the top instrumentalists in today's music.
In the late 1980's, he worked with emmy award winning producer, Ronald Frangipane. Together, they conducted many sessions at major New York City recording studios. He started writing songs at the tender age of 8 and performed his compositions while in high school. He later evoloved into blues and R&B. Ravi has performed in almost every major New York City showcase venue including Bitter End and China Club.
Presently, he is playing guitar for the internationally chart-topping band, HANSON(Mercury Records). Ravi and the band have performed the #1, platinum(1,000,000 copies sold) hit single, "Mmmbop", and other cuts from their two double platinum albums, "Middle Of Nowhere" and "Snowed In", for President Clinton and the First Family, at the NARM (National Association of Record Merchandisers) Convention in Orlando, the Pediatric Aids Foundation Benefit in Los Angeles, and on radio and television programs worldwide. Crowds exceeding thirty thousand screaming fans have attended Hanson concerts around the world. Ravi has performed in many prestigious venues including Madison Square Garden (NYC), the Beacon Theatre (NYC), and the National Building Museum Washington, DC).
Ravi’s television appearances include The Late Show with David Letterman (CBS), The Tonight Show with Jay Leno (NBC), The Rosie O'Donnell Show(ABC), Saturday Night Live (NBC), The Today Show (NBC), Good Morning America (ABC), After Breakfast (FOX), Entertainment Tonight, The Weird Al Show (Dick Clark Productions), Psykoblast ("Y" TV, Canada), Arthur Ashe Kids Day (CBS Sports), TGIF (ABC), Christmas In Washington (NBC), and Showbiz Today (CNN). He is also a featured musician in Hanson’s double platinum video,"Tulsa, Tokyo, & the Middle of Nowhere".
In addition, Ravi writes and contributes articles to publications including Musician Magazine, Gig Magazine, and Guitar (for the Practicing Musician), and is working on an instructional guitar book and video series. He is also collaborating with five time Grammy award winner (fifteen nominations) producer and engineer,Bruce Swedien (Michael Jackson, Quincy Jones) on his original music. The new material is a fusion of all his previous efforts. Strong hooks, conversational lyrics, and driving grooves are the focus.
Thanks to Ravi for being alive so that I would have the oppurtuniy to make this page about him...(you see, if he was dead, I would NOT be able to make this page about him, duh!!..hehe, sorry, had a bit too much sugar.) Ravi is a special person who, in my opinion, needs a more recognition than what he has now, but what do I know? well, I know that Ravi is a sweet person and is very cute!! hehe...Thanks for your time...
