Many years ago a very artistic lady named Mrs.
Philpot had a daughter that went to Westmount. Seven years after
her daughter left Westmount, Mrs. Philpot made a dragon for the Westsyde
Dry Grad. After the grad this dragon went to the North Kamloops Library
for two years.
When they needed the space, Westmount got the
dragon for the library. The school had a contest to name it.
The results were very close between Ziggy and Nogard (Nogard meaning Dragon
backwards). Nogard won, and now he is our mascot. We are all
proud of Nogard and love his purple scales!
Mrs. Palmer has regularly given Nogard care and
attention to make sure he looks his very best at all times.
