T H E W I N G
In an ideallic setting, a fully manned
weyr will number about 330 fighting dragons, along with a
Queens Wing, and two Weyrling
wings, junior and senior. As much to 500 dragons can be in a Weyr
during a peak time of a pass,
but this is also ideallic, and grave improbablity. Most Weyrs are in
good shape if they can have
nine good Wings and some extra riders to make up for any accidents or
injuries. If a weyr can not
make nine wings of twelve riders each (108 dragons), then it is in
serious trouble. The smallest
unit in a Flight is a Wing, composed of thirteen to thirty riders
that are led by a Wingleader
and his wingsecond(s). Three wings make up a Flight, Right, Left, and
Forward, and are grouped according
to strengths, weaknesses, and flexibility. An example Flight is
