The Cancerian is a pleasure to be with, and a pleasure to watch, overwhelming you with compassion and a childish sweetness that is his alone. He lives in an everchanging stat, becoming several personages in his lifetime, reflecting the characteristics of those he has admired, but becoming unique in the use of the superb imagination for which he is known. He is the most sensitive of souls, charming his favorite audience, the public, by adding emphasis to his conversation and smiling frequently. He is a great lover of people, his family first. But eventually, he embraces all mankind. He is musical, witty, susuous; he awakens the maternal instincts in women. The Cancerian, like the Gemini, is somewhat dual-he is publicly inclined one moment, a recluse the next. It is his nature to nurture, to cherish, to ripen and to bear. He must guard against his sensual nature, which saps his energy, ans also must avoid being super-sensitive as he is the reflection of all he surveys.

He appreciates consideration, and gives consideration. He too often takes the weight of the world on his shoulders and cannot bear the suffering of humanity. Too often, satisfying his appetite becomes a form of security, and he suffers from overindulgence. As a parent he places family above all others and works hard to protect and cherish the family he feels is his greatest blessing. He grows on love and togetherness but becomes clinging and possesive if made to feel insecure.

This is the fourth sign of the Zodiac, representing domestic environment and family. Cancer is called movable, watery, fruitful, domestic, feminine, tropical, and cardinal. It is known to have influence over the stomach and breasts. The ruling planet is the Moon.
