The Leonine
(July 22nd-August 21st)

For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.
----------Romans 10:12

Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.
-----------Romans 13:10

Here is the monarch of the heart, the master of love. One respected for generosity and fairness. In July and August, when the sun has attained its greatest power, the Leonine springs to life. He is commanding, but generous. The sun, his ruling planet, is the source of his inexhaustible energy. He is represented as the emblem of violence and fury in hieroglyphics writings. The Arietians' anger is wrath; the Geminians' anger is violence-the anger of the Leonine is righteous indignation. Here is the individual who cannot tolerate injustice. He can bring success out of failure by the sheer act of faith. Of all the signs, none is more trusting of mankind. His features are often strong and fine his posture one of pride and heritage. The temples of Apollo, and the Psalms of David were in tribute to the capabilities of the Leonine.

He is dramatic, because he is full of feeling, and intense in his expressions; consequently, he often offends the more sensitive signs with his directness, and what is sometimes akin to arrogance. "Pride goeth before a fall"-this is too often the downfall of the most warm and magnanimous sign of the zodiac. Leo loves to give, but does not take. In this, he deprives others of the gift of giving. He must learn humility to find the key to his happiness. To him was given the power to control and command, and he must not fall short of this obligation.

This is the fifth sign of the zodiac, representing leadership, and is called fiery, hot, dry, masculine, positive, and bestial. It is known to have influence over the heart and upper back. The ruling "planet" is the sun.
