Practice Bonus Games
On the stage select screen, hold "SELECT" and press "X, X, Y, B, A".  This will bring up the bonus stage select screen.  Besides giving practice on the in-level "vs. computer" games, there is also a two-player option for "Balloon Toss" and "Watermelon Seed Spitting Contest"; player 1 is Yoshi & player 2 is the Bandit.

Other Tricks

Different Title Screen
When you get a perfect on the bonus stages (acquired by getting a perfect on every stage in a world), a star appears by the title screen.  Get them all and you're a super player! To throw in a bonus for all you video-game players who want 15 minutes of fame, here's our first contest of sorts: send a photo of your 6-star title screen along with your name and/or e-mail address to white_yoshi@hotmail.com. the first person to do so gets his or her screen shot put up on the site along with his or her name.

Beat 3-8 Boss Easily
As you are entering the piranha plants lair, very carefully jump onto the platform, but don't go too far, or you'll make Kamek come.  You should barely see the piranha plant before transformation; throw an egg at it.  It will flash, and Kamek flies out and yells, "OH MY!!!!!", then flies off.  Piece of cake...

Fly Through The Wall Glitch
On stage 4-Extra (The Impossible? Maze), it is possible to fly through the wall at some points.  Jump towards the wall and keep hovering close to the "corners" of the wall and ceiling.  I have gotten it to work only on the left side of the "maze", near the hole with many arrows pointing to it, and only a few times.  It's very hard to do (I first pulled it off quite by accident), but if you can pull it off, you are treated to a very bizarre glitch in which you jump through the wall and celing,  fall inside the wall into a pit and die.

1-7 (Touch Fuzzy, Get Dizzy)
Grab a Melon Bug from the beginning of the level and use it to clear out all the Tap Taps until you reach the Shyguy pipe.  Go back and get a new Melon Bug.  Spit it to the left of the pipe and fire an egg.  As long as the Shyguys touch the Melon Bug while it is in a ball (as long as you are near it will roll up into a ball) they will become 1-ups from the 5th hit on.

4-1 (GO! GO! MARIO!!)
Go to the right from the beginning of the first Shyguy pipe.  Get the maximum of 6 eggs, go to the right, and get a Koopa shell.  Return to the pipe and stand on the one to the right.  Spit the shell between the two pipes.  Then, after 5 seconds, fire an egg.  This causes Shyguys to jupm out of the pipe into the shell's path! From the 5th hit on you will get 1-ups.
