Nimrod

Together, Kennedy/Kerry have opposed the very weapons system that won the Cold War and that is now winning the War on Terror. Listing all the weapon systems that Senator Kerry tried his best to shut down sounds like an auctioneer selling off our national security but Americans need to know the facts.

The B-1 bomber, that Senator Kerry opposed, dropped 40 percent of the bombs in the first six months of Operation Enduring Freedom. The B-2 bomber, that Senator Kerry opposed, delivered air strikes against the Taliban in Afghanistan and Hussein's command post in Iraq. The F-14A Tomcats, that Senator Kerry opposed, shot down Khadifi's Libyan MIGs over the Gulf of Sidra.

The modernized F-14D, that Senator Kerry opposed, delivered missile strikes against Tora Bora. The Apache helicopter, that Senator Kerry opposed, took out those Republican Guard tanks in Kuwait in the Gulf War. The F-15 Eagles, that Senator Kerry opposed, flew cover over our Nation's Capital and this very city after 9/11.

I could go on and on and on: against the Patriot Missile that shot down Saddam Hussein's scud missiles over Israel; against the Aegis air-defense cruiser; against the Strategic Defense Initiative; against the Trident missile; against, against, against. This is the man who wants to be the Commander in Chief of our U.S. Armed Forces?

U.S. forces armed with what? Spitballs?--Senator Zell Miller, (D) Georgia

BANG! DONE! When the latest round of polling data arrives, expect to see at least a ten point bounce in Dubya's favor. I did warn you political amateurs, dint I? Duck and Cover? Yeah! That's right. I did warn all ya'll.

Tell me something. What happened to that bullspit from the paid political pundits that the country was completely polarized, everyone had already picked their horse, and that explained why Kerry did not recieve a bounce after the Dems "America Sucks" convention? Hmmm? Wishful thinking maybe?

Dubya's speech was exactly what it had to be at this point in time. He ignores the polls, the problematic demographics and the incoming tracer rounds of hateful rhetoric that never seems to stop.

Maybe you wanted to hear about what new entitlement he and his innermost advisors had thought up. Maybe you were hoping to hear how he'd GET you the dream job you can't find on our own. Maybe you were waiting to hear what plan he had cooked up to quadruple your investments overnight. How 'bout free health care, free prescriptions and free beer for all Americans, legal and otherwise?

Well, you naysayers, you Dems wholly transfixed on the next best wealth redistribution safety-net will just have to whine aloud some more until you manage to elect yourselves another socialist. And what you continue to fail to realize is that health care, prescriptions, investments enhancements or whatever other hand-out floats your Kirov (Soviet Kirov-class aircraft carriers which displaced 44,000 tons before they were all scrapped or sold. See Ronald Reagan), none of all that domestic policy stuff means anything if the loonies currently circling the globe manage to damage ours, or the world economy to any great degree.

An e-mailer pointed out that Dubya talked about 9/11, the war on terror and not much else. While that is not entirely true, all of the day-to-day things we think are so vitally important will mean absolutely nothing if we fail to destroy the idiots that seek to destroy our way of life. Consider what happened in Russia yesterday. The loonies have now stooped so low as to take grade-schoolers and their school hostage.

I heard on WILK today that Russian forces, probably Spetznaz special forces, had stormed the school and lots of folks were dead. As much as I am curious, I did not bother to investigate the latest news. I really don't want to know how many grade-schoolers reporting for their first day of school got wasted. I hope Putin gives the bigger order and levels Chechnya. Whatever.

So anyway, what is Bush doing for you?

Being that Dubya gave his big acceptance speech last night, I really expected much more than this complete gibberish from the forum:

Bush Speech -- BN, 20:27:58 09/02/04 Thu [1]

So for 4 more years we can expect war, more job loses, war, more outsourcing, war, more overtime cutbacks to line corporate pockets, and more war! He didn't even address domestic policy issues. Republicans that are of the working class can enjoy their ride.

BN, I think you are forgetting the continuous debt that he's going to add up over another 4 years. But that won't be his problem because it will only come back to haunt the next generation.

On a side note, I still can't get over Marky 'The Exterminator,' finding The Ex-Terminator so funny.

BN! Dude! I don't know what to tell you. If you're too frightened to take a plunge from the top of City Hall, take 199 pills and call me in the afterlife. You need 30 days in the rehab hole. No Daschle. No Kennedy. No Kerry. No Clinton. And no more Barney Franks! Pessimism will get you everywhere? Anywhere? Switch parties now.

Ethel? "Ex-Terminator?" Did you think that up on your own, or did you have the help of a few bottles of extra strength NyQuil? If you had the slightest inkling of what my job involved, you'd quickly realize how little your little ditty has to do with anything other than proctology.

On to your next misguided utterance:

BN, I think you are forgetting the continuous debt that he's going to add up over another 4 years. But that won't be his problem because it will only come back to haunt the next generation.

Babs! Go easy on the Alice B. Tokas cookbook already. Oh my goodness! The national debt has reared it's ugly head once more. Funny how it's only noted when the GOP rules the White House. It was one your your socialist heros, namely LBJ, that introduced our country to entitlements, safety nets, and the national debt, per se. Sorry, but there it is. He thought that by taking from the middle class and giving to the poor; the poor would become just like the middle class. It didn't work, of course, but it sure produced a lot of debt. And that debt grew steadily for twenty years until Ronald 'Ray-Gun' decided to put an end to the cold war once and for all. And the debt reflected his lofty ambitions. What Reagan knew was that outstanding debts would not cripple this country and end America herself so long as he lowered the tax rates and grew the economy.

I know the oft-repeated socialist dogma has been incrementally pounded into your head and capitalism is now anathema for the likes of you, but trust me, debt is all a part of growing up.

The only period of time when our national debt was erased was when another of your heroes, Bill Clinton, decided to rapidly halve our military. Remember that? Paper surpluses. Gee, that other half would come in mighty handy right about now. Heyna? Pick your heroes more wisely in the future. As if.

So...the national debt is back. And what is your point exactly? If a family of four grosses $35,000 per year, they should not go into debt for the highest of the high ticket items? The next generation will be stuck with the mortgage? Or should they be willing to take on that debt as long as they work some extra hours and bring in some extra income? And that's assuming they also have a president that understands that every single dollar taken out of the economy by the federal government damages that economy.

Are you following that program? Higher taxation equals lower economic output? And that makes outstanding debts harder to retire in a timely manner.

The next generation? We should be frightened out of our economic wits by a some severely aged talking point spewed by some aged Euro-leaning and clueless democrat?

Back to the gulag with you, Ethel. There are currently enough commies in the Green Party. We've got too many clueless wonders as it is.

Now some peoples hot. And some peoples cold...

...and some peoples not veerrrrrry swift to behold.--FZ

I broke my freaking glasses at work, hit 'em with some bitch-slapping glue and went to bed last night hoping they'd be salvagable this morning. When I awoke, they needed a bit more time to harden, so I set about reading the Times Leader with it held approximately 10 inches from my face. I've been wearing glasses since the fourth grade and it never phased me much. I'm not so vain so as to explore any other options, but there are those days when I wish that heredity went a bit easier on me. Who cares?

Anywho, I arrived at the SAYSO section and was shocked to find that I had finally made it. All right! F**king A! Wilkes-Barre Online has been mentioned there on those rare occasions, but never my name. This is big. Real big! One of those anonymous nimrods posing as a mentally stable human being finally got around to mentioning me. It could have been a little more venomous to suit my tastes, but Hey!, a nimrod is a nimrod. I'll take it. I gotta get me a really small picture frame.

I heard Sue Henry bragging a few weeks back about being skewered in the SAYSO dunce-fest and I gotta be honest here-I was indeed jealous. Well then, Suzie Q, you ain't nothing on me anymore. Well, there are those two radio shows. And the TV show. And the semi-pro Wiffle Ball team. But other than that, she ain't got nothing on me. As of today, I too have been slimed by one of those more than willing mental incontinents. I'd like to thank the academy...

And I wish to share what the escapee from Nimrods R Us had to say about me:

I just wanted to give a little insight into the petition drive of Walter Griffith. The Bergolds happen to be on the campaign committee of Kathy Kane. The Bergolds also manned the phone lines for Tom Leighton when he ran for mayor. Mark Cour is the person that has the Wilkes-Barre online, it does nothing except bad mouth our town and city. He had a one-man crusade about the mayor and the fire chief back in the last administration. So I hope that the Times Leader, being the integrity that your newspaper has, would do a little investigation there and maybe fight to get this put on the ballot. I signed this. I'm a professional businessman. I'm from the North End area and I knew very well what I signed for when I signed the petition and I understood it very, very well.
...So hopefully with the reputation and the integrity that the Times Leader has that you just don't let this thing go by the wayside.
EDITOR's NOTE: We don't think this is up to us, but maybe a group of citizens would want to try to resurrect the idea. Let us know at 829-7242.

Sounds like the Leader all right. Do whatever it takes to keep the hoi polloi as agitated as humanly possible. Maybe Dubya should increase the already massive funding for the mentally challenged. After reading that distinctly marginal claptrap, I am suddenly feeling all sorts of compassionate. Well, not really.

First off, if the Bergold's support both Tom Leighton and Kathy Kane, maybe the Times Leader should do a story about how some voters got it right all along. You know, "being the integrity that your newspaper has." F**kin' nimrod.

"Mark Cour is the person that has the Wilkes-Barre online?"

All right!!! Who the hell ratted me out? That was a closely guarded secret and I will hunt down my freakin' Judas, strap them over the rusted hood, and torture them to death by Bay City Rollers. I have gone to very great lengths to fool the citizenry (or in this case, the nimrod studentry) into believing that this web site was the sole property of one Alfred E. Neuman. Dammit!!! My best efforts foiled by a lowly and bitter nimrod. Go figure.

Wilkes-Barre Online..."it does nothing except bad mouth our town and city."

Nimrod! Get with the painfully simple program. Which is it? F**kin' pick one, okay? Is Wilkes-Barre your precious town, or your precious city, nimrod?

I bad mouth Wilkes-Barre? Heh. Really? Do we need any further proof that the SAYSO column should go the way of the ancient Corbett bird? I'll leave that for others to judge. Send me an e-mail or post on the forum page. I bad mouth Wilkes-Barre? Methinks f**king not. Methinks that I'm Wilkes-Barre's head cheerleader still waiting patiently for something to get cheering about. There's lots of great stuff in the works and I am ready to GET IT ON!!! Meanwhile, the nimrods remain stifled by their perpetual negativity.

This is rich, coming fom a total nimrod:

"He had a one-man crusade about the mayor and the fire chief back in the last administration."

Gee whiz! Ya sure got me. I am guilty as charged, but I will display zero remorse for my crimes against inhumanity passing itself off as sound leadership. One thing though. Did it ever occur to you that somebody had to f**king do it before Mayor Act 47 took office with a mighty thud? Huh, nimrod? Duh! Ya' fargin' Homer.

Wilkes-Barre Online belongs to me?

I helped to shoot down Walter's short-sighted nonsense?

I led a one-man crusade against the most inept mayor ever to destroy a Third-Class City?

I remain proud to publicly acknowledge that I am guilty as charged and I remain defiant no matter what any near illiterate nimrod has to say to any answering machine at the Times Leader. Mayor McTommy is now but a fading nightmare, and Mayor Tom II has restored plenty of sanity where next to none existed before he took office. Nim-f**king-rod!

A one-man crusade against McGroarty? I'll take that as a back-handed compliment. Thank you, nimrod.

And then there's this "professional businessman" laugh riot of a comment.

I really do hate to bust the extremely smallish bubble that somehow passes as brains in your ultra-demented family, but a "professional businessman" would never, ever be caught dead calling SAYSO for any reason, nimbo.

A "businessman" might call SAYSO if he had way too much to drink. A successful "businessman" might even call SAYSO on only the rarest of occasions if he had way too much to drink in addition to a serious, serious axe to grind. But a truly "professional businessman," or a professional whatever would never, ever lower himself by dialing that repulsive number you probably have memorized. His abject and probably under-appreciated professionalism would preclude him from doing so, you nimrod.

And anyone that stupidly thinks a local newspaper can will a referendum question onto any ballot is not very astute at how local government works, and deserves only thunderous scorn whenever he bothers to voice his so-called "professional," but worthless opinion again. And only a worthless nimrod could actually believe that anyone reads the SAYSO blurbs to gain any serious insights into anything. I laugh out loud at your expense. And I wonder how fate could be so cruel to the rest of us as to allow your parents to ever meet. One chromosome too many equals a nimrod.

Try professional nimrod in the future. Or professional bottom feeder. Or professional SAYSO jerk-off.

Four more years!

Hee! Hee!
