The BROKEN  SILSILAS of the GOOFY SUFIS____________________________________________________

Some pseudo-sufi groups have broken with their SILSILA . In the US two examples are Pir Vilayat Khan( his with a disclaimer ) and  Samuel Lewis (His silsila a joke of sorts ). These two were involved with a particular branch of the Chisti order before they became known in the U.S  After they became American "new-age" cult leaders  they no longer had any formal association with the Chisti Order in Ajmeer India. Samuel Lewis  had no I'JAZA from the Chisti order in Ajmeer India  to  grant him permission to create "The Dances of Universal Peace" . This was his own  personal idea of fun . This has nothing to do with sufism at all. Pir Vilayat Khan created a personality cult around himself following his predecessor, MEHER BABA . who was evidentialy insane. Meher Baba  the did not speak for 3 decades and declared himself  to be  god in the best Hindu fashion. All these phenomenon are from Hindu SADHU  practices : Vedanta , brahamo samaj,   the bauls of India, Bhakti yogins    have  nothing to do with sufism either!. The following URL shows exactly how this was done . They combined sufism with hinduism by changing the definitions of Islamic esoteric concepts  . More accurately they subsumed them into Vedanta. I have not made a complete check on this glossary but I believe that it makes a contribution to our understanding of where  sufism was transformed into vedanta by Pir Vilayat and his progeny. Pir Vilayats books are full of vedic  core beliefs re-worked to appear as sufi  ideas..  Go to OSLO or NORWAY >Glossary (its copywrited!!)http://www.avatarmeherbaba.org/erics/glossary.html

_______________________

Pir Vilayat has been teaching his followers a made up prayer . he calls it katoom . Here is the real source: It is vedic holy scripture! "vasudhaiva kutumbakam"meaning "the world is one family" and "ekam satya ,viprah Bahuda vadanti" meaning "truth is one people call it by many names"

See the term TANAASUKH

These are the core beliefs of his followers they are Hindu not sufi !. Now, in addition to this; the  web site from which this vedic quote came  is run by a group of nationalistic Hindus whose specialty is black propaganda . Recently the radical jews and radical hindus have joined together to villify Islam and Muslims. what ties them together is trade in gold ,diamonds and hatred for Islam and Muslims!

The way you can detect  a bogus sufi is simple . They invite you to worship yourself ! They say 'god is within in you' 'you are one with god ','union with god' or 'your mind is the ultimate reality'. To some hippie who just smoked pot this was a reasonable notion. But -to any real sufi it is sacrilege.Islam is a western religion.  Islam is a western 'revealed  religion' meaning it has a holy book .Muslims Jews and Christians believe God and man are totally separate . This is a core belief in all 3 religions .

____________________________________________________________________

The  actual Sheikh of the Chisti order in the U.S. is Hakim Moinudeen Chisti ( Robert Thompson ).

He has I'JAZA and KH I LAFA   from the Chisti Order in Ajmeer India , a SILSILA and SHARIA . Sheikhs must have all four .

The one thing that these  new age people never expected back in 1972, was for Islam to become the second largest religion in the United States and Europe.  Bogus  cult leaders like Pir Villayat and Samuel  Lewis traduced the very principles upon which sufism is built namely Tauhid (the oneness of Allah )

It is used for either a single or odd number of RAK'AH (rakat) recited after the ISHA prayers ..There is considerable controversy among the learned scholars as to wheather it is FARD  WAJIB or SUNNAH , but it is generally held to be Sunnah ,ie . founded on the example of the Prophet Muhammed,S.A.W.S. but without Allah's command . The Hanafi Madhab call it QUNUTU'L _WITR .         The SHAFI'I  Madhab recite the QUNUT separately

In making salat the muslim first prays the obligatory rakat (the fard ) the they pray the SUNNAT rakat

Women do not call the ADAN or the IQAMAT when they pray alone.   When one man makes Adan for himself he recites the adhan just only loud enough for him to hear it (subaudible). Muslims who suffer from a strong desire to sing have what is called hidden Shirk .So you must repent from this desire to sing the adhan and make performance art out of your religion . There is nothing at all like performance art in Muslim worship . Your conversion is not complete until you are free from the desire to make Islam like a church by singing the adhan and the salat . It is forbidden HARAM to immitate the Christians in ANY way especially in the prayer to Allah .(singing, candles ,flowers, incense ,music  all pagan crutches NUKES your Iman -Z)

When you intend to do the Sunnat rakat express this  in your Niyyat. Also when you visit any mu'salla , Masjid or  Mosque the first thing you do when entering the masjid is to pray the 2 rakat called "greeting the masjid " or the sunnah greeting . This is much better ADAB  than simply walking in and staring a conversation . It is GOOD NIYAT ( good intention )

What has been allotted to such people from the Book (of Destiny) will come to them until, when our messengers (angels) come to take their souls, they (the angels) will say: "Where (now) is whatever you used to pray to instead of Allah" They (the unbelievers) will say: "They have deserted us." And they will testify against themselves that they were disbelievers. Al-’Araf (7):37.

And Whoever opposes the Messengers after the guidance (of Allah) was made clear to him, and follows other than the way of the believers, we appoint for him that to which he himself has turned, and expose him to Hell, a terrible journey’s end! An-Nisaa (4):115
