Whilst you may move around the paddocks and the main area, be aware that Abingdon airfield is an operational military base, and all other areas are out of bounds (we don't want you getting shot - since we will probably have to clear up the mess).
Camping will be allowed in the designated areas both on Friday and Saturday night. Please plan as though you are in a farmer's field, i.e. very basic facilities although cabin type toilets are available. Water will be available via an Army Bowser however, bring fresh drinking water with you. Please refrain from driving on ANY of the grass. Keep barbecues on hard standing, and open fires are prohibited.
The test area is of good quality hard-standing to MOD specifications and if the weather is dry, drivers with aggressive driving styles may experience higher than usual tyre wear.
If you suffer from hayfever, then you are recommended to bring some suitable medicine with you since there is a lot of grass on an airfield (as the organising team found out the hard way last year...).
There will be burger vans available all day, and a barbequeue from 4pm onwards for those staying for the now traditional 'play in the grass' in the evening.
All formalities should be completed by 10am, and there will be a short drivers briefing outside the autotest HQ before the first test starts. Please note that scrutineering for the sprint will be taking place in the HQ tent prior to 9am - please ensure that you scrutineer for the correct event!
Competition will take place in competition number order. After one run at Test 1, move on to take one run at Test 2 and then drive through the control area where you should hand in your first time card and collect you second run time card. You may then attempt your second run of tests 1 and 2, and then once again you should swap your time cards.
After all competitors have had two runs of the tests, there will be a 15-minute break to allow you to walk the next set if you wish. Tests will not be demonstrated and no practice of any sort is allowed at the venue.
The competition will proceed in this way throughout the day, until all tests are completed, or until 17.00. At which time, whatever tests are running will be considered as the last of the day.
Results will be on show throughout the day at autotest HQ and awards will be presented at a combined sprint and autotest awards presentation. We look forward to seeing you on the 10th and hope you have a most enjoyable and successful days motorsport.
