引言
1997年，举世闻名的两个名女人先後离开世界。一个是如明星在天
空中闪烁又瞬间陨落的英国前太子妃黛安娜；另一位则是寿终正寝
的享寿87岁，一生获奖无人能比的〖天神之女〗特丽莎。黛安娜的
一生就像是一朵娇艳正在盛开的花朵，忽然之间被人践踏，一时空
留遗憾但也渐渐被人淡忘；而特丽莎修女则是一粒落在地里的麦子
，虽然死了却结出许多子粒来。

特丽莎生命的伏线
特丽莎於1910年在东欧南斯拉夫出生。她自小就对穷苦的人存有悲
怜之心。12岁的时候，她阅读关於12世纪一位修士方济各的爱心服
事而深受感动。18岁的时候，特丽莎高中毕业。在一次偶然的机会
中，她得知有关於印度加尔各答的宣教事工，心中因此激动不已。

不磨灭的呼召
在父母的容许以及教会的祝福之下，特丽莎终於被给予机会去印证
天父上帝对她的呼召。1928年，特丽莎动身前往印度，当时她只有
18岁。经过了大约两年的考验，终於在1931年，特丽莎成了一名正
式的修女。

特丽莎的第一个事奉是在加尔各答圣玛利高中担任地理教师。在这
期间，特丽莎亲自见证了印度穷苦百姓生命的凄凉。她的心深深的
受到感动。1937年，特丽莎年27岁；就是在她首次誓愿6年之後，
她发终身誓愿，决心一生为修女。

时光转眼间过了十年，这时候特丽莎已经是圣玛利高中的校长。虽
然是如此，她对印度贫苦的百姓却负担日增。1948年，特丽莎终於
走出了修道院的大门，将自己投身於救助贫困者的事工，那时特丽
莎年38岁。

年近40才开始
为了能够有效的服务贫苦的百姓，特丽莎辛勤的装备自己。结果她
奇迹地只用了三个月的时间学会了日後对她的事奉大有帮助的医疗
知识。更令人感动的是：她情愿与印度贱民同等，过着与他们一样
的生活方式，住在他们当中，与他们打成一片。此後，特丽莎的事
工包括：

1.建立贫民学校
特丽莎这一项事工一开始就得到许多人各方面的支持，其中包括多
位圣玛利高中的同学投入参与，她们当中还包括不惜牺牲一切的加
尔各答富家豪门千金苏巴西尼。

2.设立弃婴教养所
贫民学校之後，特丽莎第二项事工是收养被遗弃的婴儿。因为贫苦
以及种种社会问题，加尔各答的弃婴问题以及其悲惨的景况是世间
少有的。耶和华以勒，天父的事工，他自己必负责！在这一项的事
工上，上帝也不断的在各方面供应她们。

绩效肯定事工
特丽莎救贫事工迅速的发展，两年以後，就是1950年，与特丽莎同
工的修女增至12位。她们都是来自富有家庭的女孩，，为了主的缘
故，她们宁愿放弃一切，献身与救贫的事工。此外，教会最高领导
层也给特丽莎的事工肯定。特丽莎将她的事工组织定名为〖仁爱传
教修女会〗。修女会的会宪是：〖清贫，贞洁，顺从以及为最穷困
的人服务〗。

3.建立贫病垂死者收容所
加尔各答有许多贫病者甚至连栖身之处也没有。每天清晨，许多地
方，特别是公共场所，随处都可以见到倒毙地上的人。特丽莎在贫
民学校与弃婴收养所之後又开始垂死贫病者的收容工作。这事工开
始当天就有一个老人临终之前对特丽莎说：〖我一生活的像条狗，
而我现在死得像个人，谢谢了〗。

4.设立麻风病者事工
特丽莎与修女们虽然都非常的忙碌，但是在被要求之下，他们也不
惜作出更大的牺牲。1969年，在特丽莎领导之下，第一所麻风病者
疗养院被设立。特丽莎修女与她的同工们甚至走遍荒凉与肮脏的地
区将那些躲藏起来的麻风病人招聚以便服事他们。特丽莎在这方面
的事工遍及8所麻风病院以及3座疗养所，她们所服事的对象有 5千
之众。许多麻风病人在特丽莎与同工们的爱心看护之下找到了生命
的意义。特丽莎後来更为麻风病人设立了〖和平村〗。

5.为难民营的需要而服务
1970年底至1971年初印度与巴基斯坦两国爆发战争。战火甚至遍及
原本被称为东巴基斯坦的孟加拉。加尔各答也受到波及。许多人流
离失所，妻离子散。在印度与孟加拉的边境，难民的人数多达 5百
万。许多人在逃难的当中病死或饿死。那些侥幸能够到达难民营的
人，他们同样的是活在死亡的边沿，因为难民营当中的霍乱正迅速
蔓延。

地方政府的负责人当时并不愿意派出医疗队到难民营中工作。特丽
莎对他们失望之余就自己挑选了30位身体强健的修女到离开加尔各
答东边约70公里的难民营那里去。经过了两个月的努力，难民营中
的霍乱终於受到了控制。加尔各答也因此免了受霍乱的传染。虽是
如此，特丽莎与修女们仍然在不同的难民营中穿梭，甚至在印巴战
争结束之後，难民营的事工仍然持续。当时，特丽莎已经年届61。


落地的种子结出许多子粒来
特丽莎的爱心服事激动了许多人的心灵。1965年底，〖仁爱传教修
女会〗在印度各地共成立了18个分会。许多年轻的姐妹被她的爱心
感召，志愿奉献自己的一生，将自己的青春投放在特丽莎救贫的事
工里面。1969年，一个普世性的救贫协会成立并且是以特丽莎的名
字命名，它就是：〖特丽莎国际合作者协会〗。

我父必尊重她
在11年之间，〖仁爱传教修女会〗先後在全球五大洲成立了32个分
会，包括回教国家在内。特丽莎的爱心不单感染姐妹，甚至许多弟
兄也被她感动。1963年，〖仁爱传教弟兄会〗成立。

特丽莎爱心服事的模范受到各方的肯定与赞赏。从1971到 19798年
之间，她得着10个国际大奖与荣誉，其中包括〖诺贝尔和平奖〗，
这可以说是她一生之中最高的荣誉。

我原是为这时候来的
1997年9月5日，特丽莎安息在主的怀抱里面，享寿87岁。印度政府
为她举行国葬。

特丽莎的一生，可以用什么加以描述呢？约翰福音12：23－29节是
最贴切的内容:

耶稣说，人子得荣耀的时候到了。

我实实在在的告诉你们， 一粒麦子不落在地里死了，仍旧是一粒。
若死了，就结出许多子粒来。

Prologue
In 1997, there were two most famous ladies in the world 
have passed away. One is who lived a life like a movie 
star, Princess Diana; however another one is an 87 years
old nun who has received a lot of awards in her life
which nobody can compare and has been known as "Daughter
of God". In the whole life of Princess Diana, she was 
living a life liked a rose in her most prosperous moment
and then being destroyed by an accident. She has left 
the world by leaving behind all the regrets and sympathy 
but after a while being forgotten.However, Mother Teresa
was living a live liked a kernel of wheat that falls to
the ground, even though dies but it produces many seeds.

The Life before her Mission Work
Teresa was born in Yugoslavia at 1910. Since she was 
young, she felt pity and sympathy for the poor. When she
was 12years old, she has read a book about a nun, San 
Francis's missionary in the 12th century and was touched 
by it. When she was 18 years old, she has finished her 
high school and under a coincidences she has being aware 
about the  Calcutta Mission Work and felt excited about 
it.

The nonstop calling
After getting the permission from her parents and under 
the blessing from the Church, finally Teresa was given a
chance to testify her calling from the Lord. In 1928, 
Teresa left her homeland and went to India; she was 18 
years old at that time. After 2 years of training in the 
monastery, finally in 1931, Teresa has become a nun.

The first mission work of Teresa is to serve as a 
Geography teacher in St. Mary High School, Calcutta. In
that time, Teresa has personally experienced and
testifies the life of the poor in India. She has being
moved by it. In 1937, when Teresa was 27 years old, this 
was her first time that she make a commitment after 6 
years, she has make a life commitment that she will be 
a nun in her whole life.

After 10 years, at that time Teresa has became the 
principal of St. Mary High School. However her felt for
the poor has being increasing day by day. In 1948, Teresa
has left the monastery and fully involve in the mission
work to serve the poor, she was 38 years old at that 
time.

Start when near 40
In order to serve the poor more effectively, Mother 
Teresa has being working very hard to equip herself. At 
last, she only used up 3 months time to learn about the 
basic medical treatment, which was very useful for her
mission work. She was willing to be in the same level
as the poor, lived a live liked them and with them and 
be liked them. The mission work of Mother Teresa was 
includes:

1.School for the poor
This mission work of Mother Teresa has gain an 
encouraging support from varies parties and people. A 
lot of student have taking part in it; among them 
include Shobasini, a daughter from a rich and high 
status family who was willing to sacrifice everything 
to participate in the mission. 

2.Set up an orphanage 
After building a school for the poor, her second 
mission work is to adopt those infants who have been 
abandoning by their parents. Due to the poverty and
socials problem, the issues of abundance of infants 
and others miserable tragedies were common in Calcutta. 
However, God has persistently and faithfully provided 
for them in these mission work.

Keep on Working
Mother Teresa's mission work for the poor has been 
developed, after 2 years, which was 1950, the nun who 
worked with Mother Teresa have increased to 12 people. 
Most of them were come from rich family and because
of God, they were willing to let go everything they
have and offered themselves to take part in the mission 
work and to serve the poor. Besides that, the archdeacon 
of the church also has affirmed the missionary of Mother
Teresa. Mother Teresa has named her mission group as
"Humanity Nun Missionary". The main rules of the mission
work are to be poor, chaste and undefiled, obedience and 
serve only the poor.

3.Home for the poor and sick
In Calcutta, there were many homeless people who are 
poor and sick. Every early in the morning, in a lot of
places especially in the public, there were people 
sleeping on the floor.

After the school and orphanage, Mother Teresa has started
to be involved in setting up a home for the homeless. On
the day when this mission work started, there was an old
 man before he died, he said "In my whole life, I lived
like a dog, but now when I'm going to die,I'm dying like
a human being, thank you."

4.Helping the leprosy patient
Even though Mother Teresa and the other sisters were
busy with their mission work, but because of the demand
from the public, they have made a greater sacrifice. In
1969, under Mother Teresa's leadership, the first leprosy
treatment center has been set up. Mother Teresa and the
other sisters have gone into the wilds and much
unhygienic area to reach to the leprosy patient to help
them to get treatment and care. Through these, 8 leprosy 
clinic and 3-treatment center have been established and 
the number of patients has increased to more than five
thousand people. Under the love and care from Mother 
Teresa and the sisters, the patients have able to find 
the meaning of true life. Mother Teresa also has set up
 a "Peace Village" for the patients.

5.Serve the refugees
In the year-end of 1970 to the early of 1971, India
and Pakistan were having a war. The war has spread 
to Bangladesh and also Calcutta. A lot of people 
lost there home and dead. Between the border of India 
and Bangladesh, there were more than 500 thousands 
refugees and a lot of people died in that tragedy. For
those who are able to reach the refugee camp were also
facing the probability of death. These were because the
camp was not under control and in a mess.The local
government at that time did not wanted to send a rescue
team to the refugee camp. Mother Teresa felt 
disappointed with non-response from the government
towards the refugees. At last she have selected 30 
nuns who were healthy and strong to serve and work in
the refugee camp, which is 70km from Calcutta. After 
2 months of hard work, the camp was under control. 
Although the condition of the camp has improved, 
Mother Teresa and the other sisters still kept on
working in different refugee camp. After the war, the
refugee camp still kept on progressing. At that time,
Mother Teresa was already 61 years old.

A kernel of wheat falls to the ground and produces many 
seeds Mother Teresa's humanity missionary has touched
the spirit of a lot of people. In the year-end of 1965,
"Humanity Nun Missionary" has 18 branches all over the
India. There were many sisters who have being touched by
Mother Teresa's love, willing to offer their life to 
serve and contribute in the mission work to help the poor. 
In 1969, a universal saving the poor society has being
 established and Mother Teresa's name was being used 
which is "Teresa International Cooperation Society".

Our Heavenly Father will respect her In between the 11
years, "Humanity Nun Missionary" has set up 32 branches 
around the world and this includes the Muslim countries. 
Mother Teresa's love does not only touched the sisters 
heart but there were a lot of brothers who were also 
being touched by her. In 1963,"Humanity Brother 
Missionary" has been established.

Mother Teresa's love in the mission work has been an 
example, which have been approved and appreciated. From 
1971 to 1979, she has been awarded 10 international and
appreciation honors and this included "Nobel Peace Award". 
This was the highest honor that she ever received in her
life.

My will is come for the present
On 5 September 1997, Mother Teresa has left the world and
rest in peace in the arms of our Heavenly Father when she
was 87 years old. The India government has held a state
funeral in order to remember her great work for the 
country. What can we used to describe the life of Mother
Teresa? John 12:23-29 is the best description of her life
to the nations:

And Jesus said to them in answer, The hour of the glory 
of the Son of man has come.

the earth and come to an end, it is still a seed and no

Hearing the sound, a number of people who were there said 
that it was thunder: others said, An angel was talking to
him.
