Bryan Fury FAQ/Strategy Guide

Bryan Fury Part 1

At least several more revisions will be taken before this thing is completed.

I am using the universal notations for moves. If you're still wondering about the notation ask about it through email.

Throws:

- regular throw #1: (1+3)

- regular throw #2: (2+4)

- side throws from right & left: (1+3)/(2+4)

- throw from behind: (1+3)/(2+4)

- d,df,d,df+(1+2): three chains of hits in one grapple.

- reverse throw : while you are turning your back on the opponent, (1+3)/(2+4)

- low combo breaker: d/db+(1+3)/(2+4)

Special Moves

Movement:

- d,db,b : a backing away movement looks like Paul's.

- d,df,f : ducking forward movement looks like Paul's.

Fist:

- f+(1+2) : side-attack look like elbow hit.

- b+(1+2) : backward side-step to downward-punch.

- df+1,2 : very typical two middle level attacks.

- f, f+2 : a huge-punch somewhat looks like Paul's death fist, but misses ducking the opponent so it's not that useful.

- WS+2 : a gut punch (will not stun or do much damage).

- d,df,f+2 : a gut punch same thing as above.

- Gut-punch~(f/b+2) : he grabs opponent by stomach as he throws him over the head down to ground.(not much useful but looks funny)

- d,db,b+2 : steps back and longes forward with an uppercut.

Side step + 1,2 : he fakes one punch then actually the punch follows.

Side step + 1/2 : looks different but it's the same high level counter attack.

Kick:

- f,f+3 : a slash kick.(a little slower than Bruce's).

- df+4 : just a kick which blows opponent away if hits.

- quick knee = b+4 (it is one of those unconfirmed moves).

- WS+3 : a quick knee.

- WS+3,4 : double knee.

- df+3 : leg trip.

- b,b+4 : a jumping leg close-line.

Combos:

- 1,2,1,2 : series of punches follow by mid-punch.

- 1,2,1,4 : series of punches follow by a little low leg kick.

- 3,2,1,4 : series of leg and punches follow by low leg kick.

- 3,2,1,2 : series of leg and punches follow by mid-punch.

- 1,2,3 : one-two punches, a brief pause, low kick (important move).

- 3,3 : double kick.

- b+2,1 : two turning around punches.

- b+2,1,2/4 : two turning around punches to mid-blow attack.

- b+2,1,d : two turning around punches to ducking side step.

- after ducking side step do whatever you like. (2+4)throw is recommended.

Ten-hits(looks pretty useless because it never hits low unless block-damage is on in your arcade machine):

b+3,4,1,2,1,4,2,1,4,2

b+3,4,1,2,1,4,2,4 (I know it's only eight but it is the same thing as a ten-hit).

b+3,4,1,2,1,4,3,4

Bryan Fury Part 2

#1 f+(1+4) : very fast. nearly fast as normal move with small damage.

#2 b+(1+4) : very useless big time unblockable.

This section is strategy.

Fury seems to be for those with consistent concentration and patient. He is rather slow in mobility yet decent moving agility in standing position. He does not easily inflict a single huge damage on a somewhat trained opponent. But he does possess variable attack level movements which of course do mere minor damage each time. In conclusion, durable concentration and a lot of d+1/2 seem to be needed to be good at him. }:]

A brief fighting guide(it is just for starters if you are good enough player you will not be needing this).

Against aggressive opponent:

- Having trouble against "I'm not giving you a moment to breathe!!" types? Well, you came to the right place.

A common thing on these weird aggressive people: they do have a major trip attack eg. Paul(d+4), Law(db+4), Kazuya(d,df+4) ...etc. They just make you confused for a while (seen enough of them).

- start the match with b, b+4. not risky at all yet give you time to think.

- start the match with db+(1+2) after tasting couple of this, they won't charge like bulls anymore.

- if there is a certain distance between you and him, go for 3,2,1,4. If it is blocked, do d+1 and back away or perform WS+2~d/f+2,df+3(a little risky but if it works...~60%gone). If it is not blocked go for 1,2,1,2/4.

Some people probably will say "I will just use attack reversal on them." Believe me, it is not that easy to put the reversal on it at all, especially in person to person combat. I have fought some serious reversal happy people, some of them even pissed me off a little. But never seen one who could easily reverse in the middle of this combo. (somebody still says he can do it, he probably is a show-off type of guy who does not know how to TK at all).

Still if you pressure the opponent too hard, he will figure a way to stop this series of combos (using d+1,or reversal(some idiots do it, in 1/10 times they actually put the reversal on it) That is why 1,2,3 move is so important. There is a little pause between 2 and 3. It just brakes the flow from your fury's attack. d+1 or reversal ability comes from player's instinct or their game experience usually predicting the move in the game flow. Well then, break the game flow with this.

At this point you or your opponent must be a little tensed up. Just looking at each other for a brief second not attacking. Then use, df+3. Or b+2,1,d,(2+4). Or just normal throw taking him by surprise.

If the opponent still comes after you, now just take him with 1,2,1,4 or f, f+2 or db+(1+2). See who wins at the end of the match. Odds are on Fury. No other character can perform fast follow up combos with such ease.

Against defensive ones: what the hell.... just do the same.

- 1 tip: just because you are reversed doing it for couple times, do not get intimidated. Go for it. You eventually will find a way to deal with it.

Anymore questions or complaints will be accepted with no offense...}:]
