February 17-The Clash ahd a press conference today and thanks to the Nas mailing List I was able to tell what was said:

"Some interesting stuff from the San Jose Clash press conference on Wednesday at the Tech Museum of Innovation in Downtown San Jose:

1. The new General Manager, Lynne Meterparel, is only 30 years old. She looks and speaks more like a college student than an executive.

2. Jorge Campos and Juergen Klinsmann are apparently not in the mix, according to Renato Capobianco, the Director of Soccer.

3. Raul Diaz Arce is training with the team but has not come to terms with the league (read: Sunil) yet.

4. When asked about the possibility of stepping into the TV booth, Renato Capobianco told me he would NOT do analysis on TV.

5. Though not yet finalized, the team will definitely televise ALL games locally. There are tentatively 24 local telecasts, up from 10 or so in previous years. The team is expected to use one cable/satellite regional sports channel (FOX Sports Bay Area) and one cable-only regional news/sports/variety channel (BayTV). Channel 36 is apparently out of the mix. This is a MAJOR change from the last three seasons."

February 17-The Clash had their first game of the year, but it was only a preseason match. They lost to the Colarodo Rapids 1-0. Ronald Cerritos, Raul Diaz Arce, and John Doyle where not there to name a few. Doyle had the flu and Cerritos has just reached an agreement with MLS, he will start practicing Tuesday. Coach Quinn took out most oh his starters relativly early but the Rapids starters stayed in longer which thus resulted in a 67th minute goal off the boot of Marquis White and the assist going to former Clasher Paul Bravo.

February 15-Michele Akers, who was injured in yesterday's loss to the World All-Stars is going to miss the next four to six weeks with a orbital fracture.

February 14-Bruce Arena announced the roster for the men's National Team game aganist Chile. There will be no foreign based U.S. Players because they all have to go to play with their respective clubs. The game will be a farewell match for Thomas Dooley, and will essentially be an MLS All-Star Team. Below is the roster. Eddie Lewis of the San Jose Clash was included on that roster for the third straight game. For the full roster visit US-Soccer.com

February 14-A not so happy valentine's day for the U.S. Women's National Team. They lost today 2-1 aganist the World All-Stars. Mia Hamm assisted USA's lone goal to Julie Foudy. But after that it was all about the World Team. The World Team recieved two goals from Canada's Charmaine Hooper.

February 13-The American Perspective is proud to announce its new section on WSP Soccer The American Perspective has developed an MLS Section for the great soccer page and they have put up the new site today. So please check it out@WSP Soccer

February 13-In some rumor news that is going around, John Doyle and Wojtek Krakowiak would be traded to the NY/NJ Metrostars for Mike Duhaney and a future pick. Hopefully this rumor stays only a rumor, Krakowiak is someone we need very badly considering that Wynalda, Cerritos, and Diaz Arce do not look like their going to be coming back any time soon.

February 13-The San Jose Clash have added yet another young defender. This time he comes from the A-League and he is considered the best defender from the A-League. His name is Jimmy Conrad.

February 7-The Clash had their draft today. Here's how it went:

College #3 Richard Mulrooney (F-Creighton) #15 Wojtek Krakowiak (F-Clemson) #21 Jamie Clark (D-Stanford) #27 Todd Duncan (D-San Jose State)

Supplemental #3 Adam Frye (D-Tampa Bay Mutiny) #11 Max Viera (M-Detroit NPSL) #15 Carlos Farias (F-San Deigo Flash) #27 Anthony Farace (F)

February 5-In some old news the U.S. National Team doctors have cleared Jeff Agoos to play in this Saturday's Men's National Team game to be televsied, semi-nationally, at 3:00 p.m. pst. But, Goose's D.C. United Team Mate, Eddie Pope, was not cleared to play and will have to sit out still.

February 5-This is a couple of days old but oh well. Cobi Jones and Mia Hamm were named 1998 Chevr*****(something cause we don't get payed by these guys or anyone so I am not gonna plug em for free, its a conspiracy I tell you) Male and Female Athlete of the years. Full story In other news the U.S. Men's National Team was named Fifa 1998 Fair Play Award winners. Basiclly because they played Iran and nothing bad happened except the result of course depending on who you root for. Full Story

February 5-Maybe shedding some more light on the Andy Kirk trade, was the fact that the Mutiny announced that he has left his P-40 status, and now Kirk's salary and position count aganist the cap. Still Joe Cannon, the guy that they got to replace Kirk is older and he still counts aganist the Clash's cap. There is no way that Kirk, a second year player could be making that much more than Canon that they would trade him simply for salary reasons. So hopefully that means that the Clash saw something in Canon that they did not see in the young and promising kirk. Time will tell, GO Clash!

February 5-Reports from eyewitnesses that went to see the Clash workout have not been that encouraging folks. First off Ronald Cerritos and Raul Diaz Arce are still holding out even though the Commisioner is now fining them $250.00 for everyday that they miss, starting this past Wednesday. On top of that Marcelo Vega has come into to camp grossly out of shape. One person on the Clash mailing list estimated that he was weighing in around 200 lbs. Richard Gough was said to have been in the best shape out of any of the Clashers present. So folks basiclly lets hope that the Clash can get Cerritos, Arce, Lewis, Bower, and some good draft picks into camp real quick, or else this could be another long season.

February 5-With the upcoming college draft and supplemental draft, we thought we should post a couple of links for all you out there in cyberspace to see real time updates as the draft is in progress. The draft is suppose to be this Sunday. So here you go mates. 1999 MLS College Draft 1999 MLS Supplemental Draft

February 2-This is an article that someone posted on the NAS Soccer List. Which they got it from some German Newspaper. The article talks in regards to the future plans of Juergen Klinsman. In this article Klinsman all but says he will not join the MLS. "BONN, Feb 2 (Reuters) - Juergen Klinsmann said on Tuesday he planned to settle in the United States to give his child a normal life. Klinsmann said he was organising a match on May 31 to mark his retirement between ex-players from VfB Stuttgart and an international team made up of former teammates from Inter Milan, Tottenham Hotspur AS Monaco and Bayern Munich. "There won't be a return to Germany," Klinsmann was quotedas saying in Bild, Germany's largest newspaper. "Germany will be just a holiday destination for us. I want to stay in the United States. "I want my son to go to school here and grow up as a normal child, not the son of a prominent soccer player," Klinsmann said. The German Soccer Federation (DFB) angered the former striker and national captain by refusing Klinsmann's bid for an official farewell match. Instead he has organised a match involving the 1989 Stuttgart team which reached the UEFA Cup final. It will include Guido Buchwald, Karlheinz and Bernd Foerst."

February 2-Here is an interesting article that Jay Hipps wrote for Clash.com I am assuming since the article is on their site and not Soccerspot.com Anyways the article is about Bruce Arena and his expirience with the U.S. National Team thus far. A very interesting article that talks a bit about Eddie Lewis too. (Arena Article@Clash.com)

February 2-In case you are confused by all the changes that have happened this past offseason with the Clash and your wondering who in the heck is on this bloody team anyways, the San Jose Mercury news has done us all a favor. Well not really but anyways they have posted an updated roster of all the Clashers and they give you an interesting fact about all of them. (San Jose Mercury News:Roster Clarification)

February 2-The wonderful Wilson of Wilson's Weekly Commentary wrote an intersting little tid bit in his revised Mock Draft about a possible future Clash player. First off Wilson is talking about potential college players that could go P-40, he says that Wojtek Krakowiak, possibly the best college player, might go P-40 but if he does will probably be allocated to the NY/NJ Metrostars since hes from NY. Which is odd cause I seem to remember Wilson saying something about Krakowiak being from overseas. Anyways Wilson goes on to talk about other potential P-40's and he named this guy Francisco Gomez. I have no idea about him at all. But here is what Wilson wrote and I just though I should share, "Francisco Gomez, M(California Jaguars--A-League)... Has committed. U-20 playmaker. Reports have him going to NY, buy if they get Krakowiak, he'll probably end up in SJ(he's from N. Cal)." He is supposdly a playmaker so I thought what the heck can' t hurt to have like 4 new midfielders in a midfield that's never been good.

February 2-The Clash opened training camp yesterday, and guess what, Ronald Cerritos, Raul Diaz Arce, Eddie Lewis, and Scott Bower, were all no shows. Cerritos and Diaz Arce are holding out for more money. Lewis is in Florida with the U.S. National Team. Lewis is expected to see time in the U.S. game this saturday aganist Germany. Bower is also is Florida with the Under-23 National Team and is getting ready to play aganist the German Under-23 National Team on Saturday also. Bower is not expected to join the Clash till the end of this month. Jody Meacham wrote a pretty good article for the Merc about the Clash's first day of training camp. (San Jose Mercury Article) (Official Clash Press Release)

February 2-The Clash officially introduced college and U.S. Under-23 National Team standout Scott Bower as part of their roster today. (Official Clash Press Release)

February 2-In news that no one really cares about the San Jose Clash moved their office from Santa Clara to San Jose. Suiting huh? I mean they are the San Jose Clash, so it would only make sense that their office would be in San Jose. Anyways heres the new address if any of you guys care. The new address is 3550 Stevens Creek Blvd., Suite 100, San Jose, CA 95117.

January 30-With the help of Jay Hipps, we here at The AP are going to bring you the video of the goals that D.C. United scored in their historic victory of Vasco de Gama. All the credit should go to Jay Hipps because he got the videos and did all the hard work, we just offered to hold the videos on our site since he was running out of server room. Thanks Jay. D.C. United's Historic Goals I have had a lot of trouble uploading the movies onto my server. So far one of the videos work. I hope to have them all working by the end of the week. Please bare with us. A couple of them work though so feel free to check them out.

January 30-The U.S. Women's National Team defeated Portugal today by a score of 6-0. Michele Akes netted her 100th career goal of a beautiful corner kick feed. As soon as the match report goes up, you can rest assure that I will put it up.

January 30-During halftime of the women's game Rob Stone of ESPN announced that both Jeff Agoos and Eddie Pope will not play in the U.S. next game aganist Germany coming up on Saturday. They did not say why and U.S. Soccer has not made a statement as of yet. We will let you know as soon as we find out.

January 30-Like I mentioned above the San Jose Clash were involved in a three-way deal. I do not really understand what they did so I just quoted the MLS site. “D.C. United acquired defender Diego Soñora in a three-way deal involving the MetroStars and the San Jose Clash. As part of the trade, San Jose received D.C. United's first-round selection in the 1999 MLS Supplemental Draft (No. 11 overall) and United's second-round selection in the 1999 MLS College Draft (No. 21 overall). The MetroStars picked up D.C.'s second-round selection in the 2000 MLS College Draft, United's third-round selection in the 2000 MLS College Draft and San Jose's third-round selection in the 2000 MLS College Draft.” Supposedly San Jose will pick up the majority of Diego Soñora contract against their salary cap.

January 29-Bruce Arena and Clive Charles have announced their roster for the U.S. National Teams upcoming match with Germany. (U.S. Soccer Official Release)

January 29-This is a little bit old now, but I will put it up anyway. The U.S. Women’s National Team defeated Portugal 7-0. The team was lead by Michele Akers’s 99th career goal and Kristin Lily’s first ever hat trick. (U.S. Soccer Official Release)

January 28-Here is a bio on new Clasher Scott Bower. It has all his stats and the only thing it lacks is a photo. Bower Bio. If I find a picture of the kid I'll stick it up.

January 28-The Clash have made a stupid move again. Actually that’s a matter of interpretation, they have traded Andy Kirk to the Tampa Bay Mutiny for a year 2000 second round draft pick. The freaking Clash said that they are stacked at goalkeeper with Joe Canon now. In other news the Clash have signed Wade Barrett and Jeff Baicher to a contract extension through the upcoming season.

January 26-The Clash are set to welcome another new player. This time he is a P-40 who played midfield for Clemson last year. His name is Scott Bower, a 5' 9", 165 pound junior who played 24 games in 1998 and scored nine goals with 16 assists. He supposedly not a central mid but he can play a rightmid and is supposedly dangerous in one on one situations. For the full story check out The Soccerspot In other news the Clash have also acquired A-League stud keeper Joe Cannon. Cannon was with the Clash for a brief stint last year, he was the MVP of the San Diego Flash, a team that won it all last year. (Official Clash Press Release)

January 26-New Clasher Raul Diaz Arce had an interview with a Spanish newspaper, unfortunately the interview was done in Spanish. I speak a little bit of Spanish and that’s only because I use to take it in high school but I dropped last year. Anyway I used Altavista to convert it into English for us, but a little bit was lost upon conversion. Still I was able to salvage enough to make it worth while. I encourage you all to check it out. RDA Interview

January 22-As you probably saw the San Jose Clash have traded for Raul Diaz Arce and Marcelo Vega, but the Clash have said to look for another big announcement about an upcoming allocation by the end of today. Since the Clash already have the league maximum of four foreign players look for the allocation to be an American. God please let it be Ernie Stewart of Claudio Reyna. But, only time will tell. Lets keep our fingers crossed.

January 22-Wilson of Wilson's Weekly Commentary has updated his mock draft and it appears as if neither Seth George, the forward he projected the Clash to pick, or Wojtek Krakowiak will be available for the draft. Both players are overseas right now and neither one is expected to come back and play in the MLS. Now Wilson has the Clash drafting Jamie Clark a central defender out of Stanford. I still hope that they draft a central mid because I am not sure if Vega is going to pan out. NY fans on the net have described him as lazy and out of shape and as someone who often times disappear during matches. I hope the Clash will draft Jay Heaps a midfielder out of DUKE if Krakowiak is not available.

January 11-This is a couple of days old but Clash President Peter Bridgewater has accepted a job with the front office of Major League Soccer. Mr. Bridgewater is very highly liked and I am personally saddened that he is leaving the Clash because he is such a nice guy. Anyway good luck to P.B. and with this new ownership expect some other changes soon I'd suspect

January 07-Happy Late New Year Everyone! Anyway a couple of days ago Bruce Arena invited bewildered Clash star Eric Wynalda to train with the U.S. National Team in preparation for their upcoming matches. For the full story (Clash Press Release)

Say it ain't so Waldo. Well new is that our non-bilingual friend Eric Wynalda is now officially gone. Wynalda has been given on loan to Mexican First Division Team Leon. Wynalda will not return to the MLS until May of 1999 which means he will miss about 7 games. Waldo on the other hand appears to be very happy about the moce, "I'm excited about competing in games against top-level competition during the winter months..." The move comes as a bit of a surprise considering that in the past Wynalda has had some less than flattering things to say about the Mexican league and about the country of Mexico too. The Clash meanwhile will recieve no compensation nor will they recieve any cap help to go out and pursue another player because Wynalda is expected to come back and play for the Clash. "This is a very good opportunity for Eric," said Sunil Gulati. Gulati finalized the deal for Eric in Mexico personally and well once again it appears as if the Clash have been screwed so to Waldo we bid adieu. (Official Clash Press Release) In other news the Clash have also announced the hiring of Renato Capobianco as the Director of Soccer and Lynne Meterparel as Business Manager

December 22-The amazing Wilson of Wilson's Weekly Commentary has put up his mock 1999 MLS draft. He has The Clash selecting UCLA striker Seth George in the first round. George was a great goalscorer at UCLA. in the second round he has the Clash selecting Steve Armas a midfielder from Maryland. Wilson says that Armas is a hard worker with good game reading ability. In the third round he has the Clash selecting Craig Waibel a defender out of Washington. Personally I wish the Clash would pick up Wojtek Krakowiak from Clemson because he has the potential to be a #10 player, but I don't know much about the college game. he's just one of a few guys I've seen play. Seth George is a good player though and he comes from UCLA which is cool. I encourage you to check out Wilson's site because its the most amazing one out there, plus he knows what hes talking about and you shouldn't listen to me anyways cause I am pretty much just blowing smoke.

December 22- The Great Casbah Site is reporting through some source that they know that Juergen Klinsman is going to sign with the Los Angeles Galaxy. For the full story I enourage to check out their site.

December 20-The U.S. Women's National Team dominated Ukraine today in their friendly. Julie Foudy lead the way with a hat trick. The U.S. went on to win 5-0. For the full story check out ESPN's Match Report

December 20-Here is the latest report about Wynalda and how his training os going. I got this courtesy of Trevor who runs a Charlton Fan Site. He got this information from The Charlton Athletic mailing list. "Eric looked no better or no worse than the players we have at the moment so I think that he would probably fit in. He hits the ball cleanly and generally found his teammates with a pass. He also hit the post from twenty yards with a rasping right foot drive. The final part to the training session was shooting practice. The playershad to score before they were allowed back to the changing rooms. Eric was one of the first to score with a volley from the edge of the box which looped over Sasa which had Danny Mills saying "he's got to be worth the money. Sign him up". However, the worrying thing was that the forwards, in particular Mr Jones(S), and one certain midfielder, who doesn't seem to be able to hit a barn door, seemed to be last one's to score."

December 19-There are rumors servicing that the Clash could be involved in a trade with D.C. United. One of those rumors involved The Clash giving up Ronald Cerritos, but Quinny denied those rumors right away. Other rumors involved Roy Lassiter or John Harkes coming to The Clash. Although the Lassiter deal supposdly involved Cerritos, Quinn did not deny the Harkes rumor."John has some great attributes, but I'm not initially interested," he said. "I want to look at other opportunities before I go down that road."

December 19-Suuposdly Brian Quinn is allready out and about look for new players and talents. Here are some quotes from Quinn that I recieved courtesy of the Clash Mailing List. "I've liked what I've seen in (Indiana's Lazo) Alavanja, (Dema) Kovalenko and (Nick) Garcia," Quinn said moments before Santa Clara lost to eventual champion Indiana in a semifinal match on Decmeber 11. "There are a couple of (Stanford coach) Bobby Clark's kids I like, Simon Elliott and Adam Siegman; I like what I see in them. Maryland and Santa Clara have some good players, but they're young and won't be ready for a few years. "When I came here, I had a pretty good idea who the good players were. This gives me another opportunity to see how good these players are in an environment with this much pressure." Quinn is looking for a playmaking midfielder, defensive midfielder, and another defender. ``Two of those four players will be international players with stature.''

December 18-This is old news but oh well I'll put it up. Eric Wynalda has a four day tryout with Charlton Athletic of The English Premier League. If the manager likes Waldo hes gone. For the full story check out the Soccerspot.

December 18-Bruce Arena has announced his roster for the next U.S. National Team game. Part of that roster is Eddie Lewis. For a full run down check out Soccer America.

December 10-On this International day of Human Rights word comes out that the MLS P-40 players are perfect. Well record wise at least. They beat Sheffield Wednesday reserves 2-1 and they beat Manchester United reserves 3-0. Thats a pretty big feat for P-40 even though their only playing reserves. Now we can celebrate that and the 50th Anniversary of Amnesty International. Totally not related to soccer, I am a proud member of Amnesty International and I don't care if you don't care. Its my bloody site and I'll write what I like...oops...sorry

December 08-MLS has released the schedules for the 1999 season today. The Clash open up with three games at home including the season opener aganist defending MLS Champs, Chicago. Complete 1999 Schedule.

December 08-There are various new rumors about The Clash running around. One with some validity is from this week's Soccer America, "...Uribe, is headed back to Mexico...Also gone are Chilean Victor Mella (contract not renewed)...[MLS] has begun discussions with Nicola Berti..." Another rumor that that is going around on the Metro fan Board is kinda of a cool one. Those rumors state that Mike Petke could be involved in a trade with San Jose. It goes on to say that this could be a mjor three player trade involving Eric Wynalda. Petke would be great for The Clash. A young defender with some decent speed but I am still a huge Eric Wynalda fan(unlike most Clash fans) thus I hope we get a bit more than Petke. Although from what I heard Petke looked great with The Clash in that friendly aganist Toluca.

December 05-There are rumors swirling that The Clash could be getting former Italian National Team Player, Nichola Berti. He is a central midfielder who I do not much about except for the fact that I have heard his name before. Its been said that he has lost favor with his manager in Tottenham. But, then again these are only rumors. But, then again at least its not King Kazu. Also their have been reports that Victor Mella and Francisco Uribe are gone, but I'm not sure about that. And lastly from what I have been reading off various sites on the net, if Klinsman signs(which is still very much up in the air) he will reportdly wind up in L.A. L.A. has allready cleared up one foreign spot by getting rid of Martin Machon, and lord knows Wellington Sanchez will be gone, if hes not allready. Stay tuned as the MLS Soap Opera continues...

November 27-There is a pretty interesting article about The new U.S. National Team talking about their training under their new coach Bruce Arena. The article talks a bit about Eddie Lewis and its definetly worth checking out. For the complete article. Click The Soccerspot

November 27-I talked to Clash President Peter Bridgewater recently via e-mail about Eric Wynalda's status. Mr. Bridgewater, who I have the utmost respect for because of the way he deals with fans, gave me a brief response because hes probably annoyed with me and Lord knows MLS won't let him say crap about the Waldo situation. But, I put a Transcript of his response up anyways. Its worth checking out because PB is total cool, and I hope Mr. Kraft keeps him and Eric in town. I love them both (even though Eric is a prick).

November 21-The San Jose Clash lost to Toluca 2-0. The Clash even with their guest players did not look all that great. Cobi Jones missed a point blank goal and Eric Wynalda had a brilliant chance hit the post. In a sidebar, Eric has stated that the Toluca game is probably his last in a Clash uniform. Eric was quoted as saying, "If I were a betting man, I would say it was my last game in a Clash uniform...I think it's better for me and my family to be somewhere else." After the game he gave coach Brian Quinn his jersey after writing on it, "To a great coach and an even better friend." For the full story see the The San Jose Mercury News

November 18-Unbelievable news that highly pissed me off today. MLS announced that the Rothenberg/Dentsu purchase of The Clash is off and that the team as in turn been sold to the Kraft Organization, the same team that owns The pathetic New England Revolution. Kraft is also the owner of The NFL's New England Patriots. Now rumors are swirling that The Patriots will announce tomorrow that they are moving to a new stadium in Conneticutt, and continued in those rumors are the fact that The Clash will move to The East Coast with them. For the full story check out Soccer America. And stay tuned as The Clash soap Opera continues.

November 15-From what i have been reading around the net. It appears as if Wynalda was sold to Coventary City. Thats all the information I have now, I'll put up more when I get it.

November 9-There are reports originating from ESPN's Worldwide Soccer are that Clash Striker Eric Wynalda is about to be sent overseas. The report stated that Eric would be sold to a prominent European Club with a transfer fee of one million dollars. These are only rumors so just bare with us. If I get any new news I will post it up quickly.

November 6-This news is a week old but I just saw it today, so my apoligies. Tony DiCicco has named the first 13 women that will make up the 26-player residency camp beginning in early January, 1999, in Orlando, Fla., at the Lake Sylvan Park Training Facility in Seminole County. I'll put the full roster up when I get a chance, I am too lazy to now.

November 5-According to Wilson's Weekly Commentary look for San Jose Striker Eric Wynalda to be playing in the Mexican First Division next year. I am not to sure about this myself, cause I have heard that Eric is less than enthusiastic when it comes to Mexico(one reason Hermosillo wouldn't come here, or so I was told by a Clash official). But, Wilson has been right about more future allocations and trades involving the MLS than he's been wrong about, so I don't know.

November 5-There was an interesting rumor I heard today from The Clash Message Board. The rumor said that The Clash were looking at dealing their first round pick for Alexi Lalas,Rhett Harty and Ramiro Corrales. Its just a rumor, so you be the judge.

November 2-The U.S. National Team, the women's side, announced that Mia Hamm and Michele Akers are officially on the roster for World Cup 1999

Also in this article they are saying that the Clash are still interested in acquring Campos, and look for Rothenberg to keep Quinny because of Peter Bridgewater's pleas. The article goes on to talk about Wynalda's situation but not much new light is sheded there. Read Priorities: Campos, Wynalda, midfield

September 28-Off what I have been reading off the Net, reports are that Eric Wynalda and his agent recently visited with Sunil Gulati to determine his situation. Reports off The Taxi Fanzine, are that they will pick up that option and try to sell him off to a European team for 2.5 million dollars.

  • July 19 - Well this is a couple of days old but I figured I'd put it up anyways. According to USA Today, Rothenberg is going to give Bruce Arena a chance for the Natonal Team coach but he still says he prefers a foreigner.

  • July 16 - Eddie Pope could follow Hejduk abroad. Major League Soccer lost a rare bird this week when Frankie Hejduk of the Tampa Bay Mutiny signed a three-year deal with Bayer Leverkusen of the German Bundesliga. Who's next to leave? After the USA went 0-3 in France, the list is painfully short. It's D.C. United defender Eddie Pope and no one else, says Sunil Gulati, MLS' deputy commissioner and chief negotiator. He says there is ''a fair amount of interest in Pope.''

  • July 15 - Another thing I got off the Casbah Page it looks like Klinsman might end up in L.A. after all. Supposdly what is says on his page is that the MLS will just make some trades to try and even everything out. The Allocation system blows!

  • June 30 - Steve Sampson resigned today, well supposdly he did.

  • June 23 - In addition to MLS announcing Eric's possible departure, they also announced that they are pursuing German star Jurgen Klinsmann. In Gulati's own words:

"I talked to Klinsmann's people a couple of days ago and they say he is very much interested in playing in California. There are only two teams in the state (the Los Angeles Galaxy and Clash), and I think there would be a possibility he could play in San Jose, if a deal can be struck."

I better give credit where its due I took the above two notes from the Casbah Page

  • June 23rd - MLS has officially announced that his Wynaldaness is being pursued by Spanish and English clubs. There would not release which clubs. This was news to Bridgewater who said that he would refrain from comment until he talks to Eric.

  • This above note taken straight off the Casbah Page.
