World's End

"World?s End" By Path

The world was trembling, echoing the cry of death. Demons emerged
from the Gate, to take their long-dreamed revenge on human life. Whole
cities fell in a matter of minutes, taking with them all the life in
their walls. Township was the last place attacked, swarming with
demons as the Great Bird lay dying, covered in the flames left by the
demon?s wake.
As the fleeing humans were struck down with arrows of flame, an old
dragon watched from above. The old dragon looked down sadly, as his
world was being destroyed, all because the Destined One chose the
wrong path. But even the Dragon God cannot change fate.
Almost unseen, a young blue-haired girl was crying, tears streaming
down her cheeks as she screamed to her dead family for an answer, of
why her brother had turned his back on the world. Trees fell around
her, turning to dust before they hit the ground. Birds flew into the
sky, only to be struck down by spells of Death. In the distance, a
black cloud was slowly appearing, a cloud of shadows and darkness.
Death continued to rain on the world, swallowing all hope.
As the Dragon God sighed, he closed his eyes. He had seen too much,
it was tearing his heart. Yet there was nothing he could do about it.
His kind could not interfere. It was the Destined Child?s job to
protect the world. Now, his mistake would be the end of them all...
A tear fell from his eyes, shattering on the ground.
As the demons destroyed and humans ran, a more serious threat
approached undetected. The center of the world began to heat up. The
crying of the dragons in Dologany began to resonate throughout the
world. The earth began to shake and melt.
Only Bleu realized what was happening. With silent tears streaming
down her cheeks, she knelt before a broken statue of the Dragon God
and began to pray. A merciful act of the dragons, to end everyone?s
suffering. Still, the demons did not flinch as death overtook every-
thing. As the earth melted beneath her, Bleu whispered a word of
thanks.
The final sound anyone heard was the piercing cry of an angel.
Then it was all over. The legend of the Destined Child turned into the
dust of space.
