Priceless Things

Lillies Of The Field Dear Lord I know You will provide, The things I am not able, And keep a coat upon my back, And food upon the table. I know some folks who worry, And paint the future grey, But when I am most helpless, You always find a way. Dear Lord I know You will provide, Each true necessity, That through life's darkest hours, You have not forgotten me. Time and again You've shown me, That You always understand, I've only but to stumble, And You're stretching out Your hand. Dear Lord I know You will provide, Whatever I may lack, You love me, and You only ask, That I should love You back. And what a consolation, Your own dear words reveal, When I recall Your story of ...The lillies of the field ~author~Grace E.Easley~

Lord, Thank You...for everything.   Lord, thank you for this sink of dirty dishes; we have plenty of food to eat. Thank you for this pile of dirty, stinky laundry; we have plenty of nice clothes to wear. And I would like to thank you, Lord, for those unmade beds; they were so warm and comfortable last night.   I know that many have no bed. My thanks to you, Lord, for this bathroom, complete with all the splattered mirrors, soggy, grimy towels and dirty lavatory; they are so convenient. Thank you for this finger-smudged refrigerator that needs defrosting so badly; it has served us faithfully for many years. It is full of cold drinks and enough leftovers for two or three meals.   Thank you, Lord, for this oven that absolutely must be cleaned today. It has baked so many things over the years. The whole family is grateful for that tall grass that needs mowing, the lawn that needs raking; we all enjoy the yard. Thank you, Lord, even for that slamming screen door. My kids are healthy and able to run and play. Lord, the presence of all these chores awaiting me says You have richly blessed my family. I shall do them cheerfully and I shall do them gratefully.

""A Mother's Heart"" I loved you from the very start, You stole my breath, embraced my heart. Our life together has just begun, You're part of me my little one. As mother with child, each day I grew, My mind was filled with thoughts of you. I'd daydream of the things we'd share, Like late-night bottles and teddy bears. Like first steps and skinned knees, Like bedtime stories and ABCs. I thought of things you'd want to know, Like how birds fly and flowers grow. I thought of lessons I'd need to share, Like standing tall and playing fair. When I first saw your precious face, I prayed your life be touched with grace. I thanked the angels from above, And promised you unending love. Each night I lay you down to sleep, I gently kiss your head and cheek. I count your little fingers and toes, I memorize your eyes and nose. I linger at your nursery door, Awed each day I love you more. Through misty eyes, I dim the light, I whisper "I love you" every night. I loved you from the very start, You stole my breath, embraced my heart. As mother and child our journey's begun, My heart's yours forever my little one. Author Unknown

I want to thank you so very much!!! Dori you are a very special lady and friend..Dori has written this special poem for me!!! To help me cope with my husbands death..

Sometimes it is so hard, to pretend not to be down. Sometimes it is hard to be alone, when you need someone around. Sometimes the sun is too bright and it brings my eyes to tears. Sometimes only the darkness of night can come close to hiding those fears. Sometimes when I am needing you, and you're nowhere to be found. That is when I need my memories, to make up for the lack of sound. Sometimes I think I can't go on, and why should I even try? And then the rain finally stops, and I gaze up into the sky. I need to go on. It's what I must do. And I will do so my Dear, because of you..... Written For Cindy W. by Dori B. 8/22/99

As you go on along your way, with the business of the day, Never let yourself feel blue, know what someone is thinking of you! And that someone will be me, even when you can't see....... You are with me in my mind, and you will definately find, that you always have me as your friend, from now until the very end.......Written 8/25/99                                                   by Dori Bushee

Thanks to May for this story~~

A woman came out of her house and saw 3 old men with long white beards sitting in her front yard. She did not recognize them. She said "I don't think I know you, but you must be hungry. Please come in and have something to eat." "Is the man of the house home?", they asked. "No", she said. "He's out." "Then we cannot come in", they replied. In the evening when her husband came home, she told him what had happened. "Go tell them I am home and invite them in!" The woman went out and invited the men in. "We do not go into a House together," they replied. "Why is that?" she wanted to know. One of the old men explained: "His name is Wealth," he said pointing to one of his friends, and said pointing to another one, "He is Success, and I am Love." Then he added, "Now go in and discuss with your husband which one of us you want in your home." The woman went in and told her husband what was said. Her husband was overjoyed. "How nice!!", he said. "Since that is the case, let us invite Wealth. Let him come and fill our home with wealth!" His wife disagreed. "My dear, why don't we invite Success?" Their daughter-in-law was listening from the other corner of the house. She jumped in with her own suggestion: "Would it not be better to invite Love? Our home will then be filled with love!" "Let us heed our daughter-in-law's advice," said the husband to his wife. "Go out and invite Love to be our guest." The woman went out and asked the 3 old men, "Which one of you is Love? Please come in and be our guest." Love got up and started walking toward the house. The other 2 also got up and followed him. Surprised, the lady asked Wealth and Success: "I only invited Love, Why are you coming in?" The old men replied together: "If you had invited Wealth or Success, the other two of us would've stayed out, but since you invited Love, wherever He goes, we go with him. Wherever there is Love, there is also Wealth and Success!!!!!!"

Thanks for sending this poem Dori!! This Day. I may never see tomorrow; There's no written guarantee   And things that happened yesterday Belong to history. I cannot predict the future, I cannot change the past, I have just the present moments, I must treat it as my last. I must use this moment wisely For it soon will pass away, And be lost forever, As part of yesterday. I must exercise compassion, Help the fallen to their feet, Be a friend unto the friendless, Make an empty life complete. The unkind things I do today May never be undone, And friendships that I fail to win May nevermore be won. I may not have another chance On bended knees to pray,   And I thank God with a humble heart For giving me this Day.

All I Need To Know About Life I Learned From ""Trees""                         (author unknown) It's important to have roots. In today's complex world, it pays to branch out. Don't pine away over old flames. If you really believe in something, don't be afraid to go out on a limb. Be flexible so you don't break when a harsh wind blows. Sometimes you have to shed your old bark in order to grow. If you want to maintain accurate records, keep a log. To be politically correct, don't wear firs. Grow where you're planted. It's perfectly okay to be a late bloomer. Avoid people who would like to cut you down. Get all spruced up when you have a hot date. If the party gets boring, just leaf. You can't hide your true colors as you approach the autumn of your life. It's more important to be honest than poplar.
