On Specht

.

George Specht and his young partner, Macgregor, Little G,

Were cruising in the neighbourhood, to see what they could see.

Two robbery suspects had been seen, in a rolling stolen car,

When suddenly, they spotted it, in the lane there, not too far.

.

One suspect bailed and ran away, with Adam on his tail,

The other one was cornered, and would soon reside in jail.

Round and round the suspect ran, Adam closing in,

They both went by so many times, George’s head began to spin.

.

George cuffed a wrist, of the guy he had, to the door post nice n strong,

Then went to help his partner, so he would not run too long.

The suspect dodged, this way and that, Adam lost him for a sec.,

Then tackled him, as he reappeared, and took him to the deck.

.

When George went back, to get his guy, much to his surprise,

Both car and suspect vanished, from his disbelieving eyes.

It seems the limber bad guy, stretched right across the ride,

Got the engine started up, and went screaming off to hide.

.

Now George would have to write a note, on the cuffs that he had lost,

Just think how much, those bracelets were, likely to have cost.

But everyone was pitching in, and searching everywhere,

To let him get away with this, would really not be fair.

.

There is a happy ending, to the cuffs gone for a ride,

Someone found the stolen car, with the guy still cuffed inside.

And George had written up his note, as best I can detect,

I guess one could determine, that it was written up “On Specht”!
