The 2002
DD-950 Seattle/Tacoma Reunion will be held August 15 - 18th at the La Quinta Inn, Tacoma, WA (253) 272-9475.
One of the most interesting stops for
the alumni of the DD-950 will be a tour of the sister ship, Turner
Joy (DD-951). The DD-951 is now a museum ship moored a short ride
from the Tacoma/Seattle area in Bremerton, WA. You can visit the Turner
Joy on the Web.
Don Shelton, a former ET1(SS),
has an interesting Website of what you can expect to see on the tour
of the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard. The PSNS is where many
deactivated ships meet their fate.
Seattle has more interesting sites to
visit than we can list here. You can
prepare yourself for a visit to the Emerald City by taking a virtual
tour of Seattle.
If you find some other interesting
suggestions for the group to visit during the reunion, please make a
note of it on the DD-950 Forum.
We
will soon post a list of those planning on attending. Please send
us a note that you are coming now: 2002@NavyVeteran.net.
Just do it! Then write your friends and get them to list their names as
an attendee also.
Washington
State is a great place to spend your 2002 vacation. Check out the
