Men, Divorce and Suicide: Another View

San Grewal, Life Writer for the Toronto Star, recently wrote an article on "Men, Divorce, and Suicide." The article pointed out that men account for 80% of Canada's suicides, and that divorced men commit suicide twice as much as men who are married or single. Mr. Grewal, after stating some statistics on suicide, said "Despite the numbers in the report, which was not conducted to make any specific connections, there has been no research since to explore the relationship between male suicide and divorce."

So what is the main cause of suicide? What is the one thing that could be done that would cause a significant drop in the suicides among divorced men? The answer to this question is not that difficult, but before someone can accept the truth of the main causes of suicide, one must first accept the truth that slavery is just as much an institution today as it has been throughout history. The more oppressive and cruel the enslavement, the more suicides there will be among the enslaved classes of society. Why do you think that, in pre civil war times, slaves were kept in the holes of ships and not allowed on the decks? Simple, it kept the slave trader's precious cargo of labor from jumping into the ocean. As Winston Churchill stated during World War II, "it is better to perish that to live as slaves."

Massive and expanding social programs have trapped the people in a process of increasing servitude. In America, anyone who takes the time to do the research, can see that the income tax, when it began with the 16th amendment in 1913, was a tax that was only supposed to tax the gains and profits of corporate activity. It was not initially designed to be a general labor tax to support a process of gradual socialism. In America, the Social Security Act of 1935 was the first law that perverted the income tax into a general labor tax by starting taxing labor at the rate of 1% of wages in 1937. Social Security, by the way, was one of the main planks of the Socialist Party Platform of 1932. Today, according to the census bureau, all forms of taxation combine forces to despoil workers of around half their labor. Medieval barons exacted less labor from their serfs than today's tax system exacts from workers, and the serfs were considered slaves.

In a divorce situation today, there need not be any legitimate grounds thanks to no fault divorce. A man can be a hard working fellow who supports his family and loves his children, but if his wife decides to divorce him, there is nothing he can do. He will be dragged through the system and ordered to pay child support for the children he has bred. Here is a system of slavery implemented by the force of law. The courts that are used by those in power to enforce the slave codes that accompany the divorce/child support growth industry are called "family courts." These courts do nothing to try and hold families together. Calling such courts by the name "family courts" is misleading and hypocritical. It is not in the "family court's" interest to hold families together. There's way too much money involved.

The enslavement of millions of souls will yield enormous wealth to those in power, and when slavery is imposed in a cannibalistic fashion, the only means of emancipation is through suicide. The lawmakers, lawyers, and judges all grow fat by fastening a yoke around the necks of millions of working people, mostly men. This is why thousands of Jews committed suicide under the rule of the Nazis. The same principle applies today in the divorce/child support growth industry. There will be no reduction in the suicide rates of divorced men unless they are emancipated from their slavery. In fact, as Wendy McElroy, editor of ifeminists.com pointed out in Mr. Grewal's Toronto Star article, the suicide rate among men will only get worse if nothing is done.

Mr. Grewal's article gave the example of Darrin White, a railway engineer from Prince George, B.C., who hanged himself two years ago. The child support orders that the courts issued against him took almost everything he earned, and left him with nothing to live on. He did not consent to his divorce. He was enslaved to a very high degree, and chose emancipation through suicide. Only two members of Canada's parliament thought that changes needed to be made in the laws. This shows how calloused lawmakers can be. It shows contempt for the sanctity of human life, all because of the love of Mammon. The lawmakers, lawyers, and judges stating that they are acting "in the best interest of the children" simply adds to the hypocrisy.

According to the old Roman Law, the right of "usufruct" always applied to slaves. This meant that the slave's labor did not belong to him, but to a master. But the master, in exchange for using the slaves labor and services, had certain responsibilities imposed upon him by law. These same responsibilities existed in pre civil war times in America. As J.H. Hammond, who was governor of South Carolina in pre civil war times put it, masters had the duty "to clothe, feed, nurse, support through childhood, and pension in old age, a race of slaves." This quote comes from COTTON IS KING AND PRO-SLAVERY ARGUMENTS, which was last published in 1860. Governor Hammond also pointed out the enormous pecuniary interest the slaveholders had in the labor of their slaves, and that the South would go to war before they would give up the enormous sums of money that their precious labor yielded them, and history shows that they did.

Slavery in the form of bondage is dead, but slavery in the form of mere cannibalism is alive and well. In fact, it is progressively growing. The lawmakers, lawyers, and judges who cannibalize the people's labor accept none of the responsibilities of masters like the old masters did who held slaves in bondage.

Consider the following written by Stephen Baskerville, professor of political science, Howard University, Washington, D.C.
:

IF SOLOMON HAD BEEN AN AMERICAN FAMILY COURT JUDGE (with apologies to I Kings 3:16-28)
by Stephen Baskerville

And the king said, Divide the living child in two, and give half to the one, and half to the other. Then spake the woman whose the living child was unto the king, for her bowels yearned upon her son, and she said, O my lord, give her the living child, and in no wise slay it. But the other said, Let it be neither mine nor thine, but divide it.

Then the king answered and said to the first, As thou hast spoken, even so shall it be. Give her the living child, and in no wise slay it: though she be not the mother thereof, yet hath she established a routine which I durst not disrupt. Then spake he again and said, Henceforth shalt thou keep thyself from off the presence of thy child except it be every second Sabbath and Wednesday dinner, and thou shalt pay unto the other fifty shekels of silver each month as child support, because thou hast brought forth this child into the world, and now thou dost abandon it.

And all Israel heard of the judgment which the king had judged. And the people saw how it profiteth to steal a child, and lo, it came to pass from that time forth that there was much snatching of children in the land.

And thereafter the docket of Solomon waxed exceedingly great, and constrained was he to appoint judges to rule over the land; lawyers also appointed he them. And the people brought every man his present, vessels of silver, and vessels of gold, and horses, and mules, and oxen, and sheep, and garments, and houses, and laid them before the feet of the lawyers for the recovery of their children. And the riches of Solomon and of the judges and lawyers grew exceedingly much, even as the sand that is on the sea shore . . .

Baskerville's piece goes to the heart of the matter: Instead of accepting their responsibilities of masters, the cannibals of human labor are able to absolve themselves of those responsibilities by adding more servitude upon workers who were already slaves to start with. As servitude continues to increase with time, more families will be destroyed and the divorce/child support industry will draw more victims into its vortex, thus expanding the great labor feast. An increase in the suicide rates of divorced men is inevitable, and the people who are primarily responsible for this growing suicide pogrom are the lawmakers, lawyers, and judges who uphold the system.
