Did I mention that I hate a smug Punk? I can't think of a time when he was any more smug. Don't you just want to smack him? I'm sure he was really enjoying throwing Scully's thesis back in her face.
Smugly reminding Scully of the theoretical possibility of time travel by throwing Scully's graduate thesis in her face. To add insult to injury he declares that she as much more open minded as a youngster. No doubt what he means is: "You were more likely to agree with me as a youth Scully."
