68 Camaro SS

Specifications 

 

This consisted of new rear quarter panels, fenders, 68 SS hood, door skins, header panel, and some minor repairs to the top and trunk lid.

Engine:  Big Block Chevy 402 C.I.D. 

  • The motor is a 396 out of an '69 Camaro (396/375HP) Four Bolt Main

  • (bored .030 over- {402 C.I.D.})

Fuel Distribution:

  • Holley 800cfm Double Pumper

  • Holley Competition Mechanical Pump  

  • Holley fuel pressure regulator ***

  • inline fuel pressure gauge

Induction:

  • Edelbrock C427A  intake

Cylinder Heads:

  • Chevy Bowtie "Hi-Perf" Closed Chamber - Rectangular Ports (11.5:1 comp)

Camshaft:

  • Comp Cam Magnum Series- 294S  (Solid Lifter)
  • Duration 248, 248 @ .050 | Lift .595, .595| Lobe Sep 110o Double Valve Spring

Pistons: 

  • Forged TRW L2242F .030 "402"  - (.352 Dome)
  • Speed Pro Plasma Moly Rings

Crankshaft:

  • Steel crank turned and balanced 
  • Clevite77 V-Series  Bearings 

Ignition:

  • Accel Dual Point distributor w/ Accel Super Coil 

Exhaust:

  • Hooker Competition Headers 2 " tubing with 3 1/2 " collectors
  • 2 1/2 " True Duals hooked to a set of Flowmasters (2 chamber)

 Drive Train:

  • Muncie 4-Speed manual transmission
  • 12 Bolt  Auburn Posi Unit with 4.11 Richmond Pro Gears

Suspension:

  • Lakewood traction bars
