Nark's Celica

Story

Here, you'll find information about my 1983 RA60 Celica. After the original engine developed a terminal oil leak, I have installed a Japanese import engine called the 1G-GTE. It's a 2.0L DOHC EFI 24V water to air intercooled twin turbo inline six cylinder!
For a report on the conversion, look here

I've joined the ToyMods Car Club here in Sydney. So now I see a lot of psychopaths pretty often and terrorise V8's with them. :)

I've had a few problems. My inlet camshaft got stuffed by a rogue tappet. My engine has developed a knock on low load. This was diagnosed as a worn crankshaft bearing. GA70 Supra front cut and swapped the new engine in. You can read about the swap here. Due to the two bolts for the oil pick up not being tightened properly, that engine lasted two weeks before dying from oil starvation. Anyway, a third swap has done the trick! Also, on a side note, these later model 1G-GTE's run 11psi boost!
I recently bought myself an MD head unit ('coz I was sick of all the tapes that I had to carry around). And I also stumbled along a great bargain! 17x7.5" RemOtec mags plus tyres for $750! So now my traction problems aren't as bad!
I've also found time to put my car on a dyno! Click here for the dyno sheet. Unfortunately, my water pump for the intercooler wasn't working so my car should make a few more kW than that.
