Venice Intaglio Printmaking | Scuola Grafica Italian art critic
Dr. Giorgio Trentin, 83, president of the Veneto Association of Intaglio
Printmakers (Associazione Incisori Veneti / AIV) talks with German-American
artist Alan F. Sundberg in Venice, Italy. After Dr. Trentin reviewed A.F.
Sundberg's latest intaglio prints (incisione calcografica), there
was time for a refreshing exchange of new ideas near the Ponte di Accademia
and also a few ironic stories about the Old Masters of the 1500's.
They also discussed events from Bassano del Grappa: Sundberg's recent exhibition, "My 100 Prints", in Bassano's famous Scuola di Grafica Remondini (Maestro Armando Martini) and the international
conference "Bild Druck Papier" (Immagine Stampe Carta) held in the Bassano Museum/
Museo Civico in collaboration with the Museum Europäischer
Kulturen, Berlin. June/2001
Dr. Trentin is the former
director/curator of Venice's Cultural Foundation L'Opera Bevilacqua La
Masa (Comune di Venezia).
