1990s
My earliest poetry, ranging from a 13-year-old's tribute to Luke Skywalker (The Many Faces of Luke Skywalker)to a poem based on children in WWII Japan. These poems are largely influenced by movies or books which a saw/read.
Symbolic Poetry
Metaphoric poems which hide their meaning deep behind vivid imagery.
Emotional Poetry
Abstract poems which display simple, raw emotion.
Song Lyrics
As the title says, lyrics to songs I wrote at this time. Most of this music was memorized and nearly all of it has been lost.
2000
A productive and emotional year, all these poems are writings on personal emotions. They are largely directed to, or written about two people in my life at the time and how my feelings for them changed, and how they changed me.
2003-2004
Poems written for my poetry class in college. They are of varying forms, from one based on haiku to a poem whose meaning changes when you read it from the last line up.
2010
These poems mark a return after 5+ years of only journal writing. They are a return to the abstract, containing reflections and imaginations of emotions. I also hope to write in traditional Classical forms.
