I am going to tell you all about the step by step face/makeup process I use everyday.  The first part of the "routine" I use is a five step process I guess you can call the skin care process.

1.  Cleanse

2.  Tone

3..  Moisturize

4.  Exfoliate

5.  Protect

These are the five steps.  The first step, cleanse, is when you basically wash your face with some kind of cleanser.  If you wanted to, it could just be soap and water.  Some products I would recommend are Neutrogena facial cleanser, Mary Kay's Timewise 3 in 1 cleanser, which has the first three steps in one solution, or Clean and clear products.

The second step, Tone, is an alcohol based product, just rubbed into your face.  It usually soothes your skin and opens your pours for a more healthy clean.

The third step is when you cover your face with lotion or moisturizer.  It adds a healthy glow and more, obviously, moisture to your skin.  This is a very important step if you tend to have dry skin.

The next step is one many people miss.  Exfoliating is the cleansing of your pours for a deep down clean.  The best way to accomplish this step are masks.  I love using masks.  They are extremely revitalizing for your skin and lot's of fun, not to mention relaxing.

The fifth step, protecting, is basically your concealer, foundation, AND sunscreen.  Concealer is very usefull.  Many people just use a foundation and cover up all their blemishes or unwanted marks, and don't really realize the difference between concealer and foundation.  Foundation wasn't made to cover blemishes, but to give an even tone to your skin.  Concealer is a bit thicker and usually comes in yellowish colors.  This base is better for covering up your unwanted marks on your face. Over zits and blemishes, under eyes to get rid of dark circles, that is where concealer is used.  Foundation should be spread over your entire face.  When foundation is used it protects your face by creating a sheild.  Everyday millions of particles of dust and other nasty things get on your face.  If you have this layer of protection (which should be as close to your real skin color as you can possibly get it) then it will protect your skin from getting dirty.  THis is why you must wash your face every night at least.  With the makeup that you rub off, you are also rubbing off nasty bacteria and dust build up.

Eyes

1.  Remove any eye makeup allready on the eye

2.  Apply the lightest color over the entire eyelid:  From the lash line up to the brow.

3.  Apply the neutral color along the crease of the eyelid and the lash line.

4.  Touch up the socket line with the darker shade, and blend together.

Lips

1.  Create a soft smooth lip by applying lip balm before you begin.

2.  Prime your lips by smoothing them with a light touch of foundation.  Use a makeup sponge so you reach every tiny crevice on the surface.

3.  Rest your elbow on a firm surface while carefully drawing an outline with your lip pencil.  Start by defining the crevice of your upper lip then outline the middle section of your lower lip.  Next line the outer edges of the top and bottom lip.

4.  Try to use a lip brush to  apply the lipstick.  This gives you more control over your direction.  Start from the outside and work your way in.
