Would you like to obtain free college credit for BCIS 1 and Advanced BCIS 2 classes while you are in highschool?  If so, then dualcredit is for you.  Houston Community College along with the Houston Independent School District have a partnership where students can obtain highschool and college credit absolutely FREE!!!  Just think about it, you will be a college student while in highschool!!!

The following dual credit classes are currently offered at Austin High School:

BCIS 1: Please see Mr. Cotten (A323) , Mrs. Roberson (A326) , or Mrs. Williams (A330) for more information about enrolling in these classes.

ADV BCIS2: Please see Ms. Smith (A317) for enrolling in these classes.

Below lists the criteria for enrolling in Career and Technology Dual Credit classes next year:

a) You must currently be a sophomore or junior, thus meaning that you will be a junior or senior next school year.

b) You must have passed either the TAKS Math or TAKS English or both with a score of at least 2100 on either or both Math or English sections of the TAKS.

c) To enroll in BCIS1, you must have successfully passed Keyboarding.

d) To enroll in Adv. BCIS2, you must have successfully passed either Computer Applications or BCIS 1.

If you've met all these qualifications, then get ready to get a "jump start" on your college career.
