Bent Reality

Bent Reality is a LiveJournal RPG in which you play a fictional character you came up with in your own mind. Unlike RPG's such as Must Be Pop, you don't play someone who already exists. Your character can be whoever or whatever you want. Want to be a single mom with three kids? Go for it. Want to be a gay street hustler? It's yours. Want to own a nightclub, be a member of the Mafia, be a computer geek who sits at home and hacks into the Pentagon? Be whatever and whoever you want. Your journal will be in your character's name and talk about seeing the world through the eyes of your character and what happens in his or her life.

Everything in Bent Reality takes place in a fictional city called Eden, California. We chose the USA because that's probably where a majority of the players will be from, but if you want to be a foreign character, you could have it be someone from England, France, Canada, etc. who moves to Eden for one reason or another. Each character is a resident of Eden. The reason for this is so that there are logical reasons for our characters to bump into each other and socialize. The whole point of this is for our characters to interact, love each other, hate each other, sleep with each other, et. al.

What should the journal be like?

You can put anything you want in the journal - whatever your character is thinking, feeling, did that day or anything else you want - and join the main community, bent_reality. The community is the mecca and the headquarters of the game. Your icons should be pictures of whatever or whoever you think your character looks like. You can base your character's looks on actors, musicians, models or whatever you want. If you're looking for a face for your character, I recommend modeling agency web sites. Most of them contain listings of the male and female models on their rosters and several pictures of the person.

Can I join?

Yes! Join! The more people involved, the more fun it will be. You don't have to ask us. You just have to start your journal, join the community and start interacting with the other characters.

Will this be on AIM?

Yes, many (nearly all) of our members roleplay and interact on AIM through chat rooms and IMs. Feel free to do this yourself, although it is not necessary.
