My Pierson Family

This is the earliest we can trace our Pierson family.

The Piersons that first came to America in our line were Scotch/Irish decent.

Samuel Patrick Pierson b. abt 1769 married Cynthia Jane Brim in 1794 and they came to America
as newly weds. They landed at Port Philadelphia, Pa., in 1794. In 1795 they went to
Kentucky traveling by horse and wagon. They settled on open Land, the work was extremely hard
as the land was covered with forest, but the soil was rich. Samuel had brought seeds from home and it is
said he grew the first cabbages in his area.

Cynthia Brim Pierson died when her son John was 8 years old. It is said that Samuel did
not remarried, and raised his sons alone.

James Pierson b. 1801 in Kentucky, married Ann Maria Parrish on September 24, 1824 in
Washington Co., Indiana, on January 1, 1829, Salem, Washington Co., In., James was in a knife
fight with his brother Patrick Pierson, and was stabbed, James died on January 5, 1829. Patrick
recieved a 7 year sentence in the penitentiary. Ann Parrish-Pierson then married his
brother John Brim Pierson on December 10, 1829 in Posey, Washington Co., In.

A Brother of James, John and Patrick Pierson, Isom Pierson, married a sister of Ann Maria Parrish, Elizabeth Parrish, and had six children, a daughter, Sarah Jane Pierson, b. December 1825, in Posey, Washington Co., In., m. Elijah Collins on June 17, 1841 in Posey, Washington Co., In.
Elijah and Sarah Pierson-Collins were the proginators of the Collins/White/Swinney/Sharp/Stanley/Martin/Dutton families in Doniphan Co., Ks.
